    Made It Through

That's very good news. Continue to rest and sip. You made it to the Loser's Bench!!!
  2. Having been on a thousand diets and failed, I knew this was a lifestyle change also. The major reason I failed before was because I didnt change. With a lifestyle change there are clearly things I will never eat or drink again. Weight Watchers teaches all things in moderation BUT still acknowledges we all have our set of "red light" foods; things we can't even taste because we can't exercise that moderation. I think even people considering the surgery want to know how much THEY have to change to make this work. That's why the response of I can eat that when I want to regain the weight is so spot on!
  3. I'm sorry you had such a hard time but delighted to hear from you now! Truly God is in control and you are still in his loving care. Right now you need to rest and recover. Take it easy and enjoy this time of healing. Please keep us posted on your progress.

    Getting Enough To Drink

Daniel, like you, I can drink more slushy G2 than any other liquid. That includes a variety of Crystal Light flavors. Slushy orange G2 is my favorite. But is it quite high in carbs so I only use after a long walk. I do add some lemons and limes to my pitcher of Crystal Light. It's in a core cylinder so I think I'm going to take the suggestion to make it even more acidic. Good luck to you!

    Labor Day Challenge 2012

Three weeks post op Challenge weight: 203.4 Last week's weight: 199.4 Today's weight: 192.8 (down 6.6 pounds) Goal weight: 180 (down 10.6, 12.8 to go) Starting to each purees and I'm shocked by how little I can eat! But I love having tuna, scrambled eggs, yogurt, and refried beans. Yum! This beats a liquid diet any day. To get off the rest, more liquids, more protein, and stick to the exercise. Doing well on tasks but need more fluids and protein to really meet this goal.
  6. Well, no wonder! You look fabulous. What a great job you've done!

    Non Scale Victory! (Nsv)

Oh thanks for sharing this. What a wonderful reminder to live it up each step of this journey. Good for YOU!
  8. 1. Mid sentence, my husband stops and gives me a stunned look and says I look 10 years younger. 2. My shoulders are shaping up to look like shoulders and I can almost see my collar bones. 3. I put on a dress I think should fit now and it's too big!! 4. I put a third of what I used to eat on my plate and it's way too much.

    Something To Freshen Breath

    Woo Hoo...16 Work Pants!

I'm only 2.5 weeks out so it was very exciting to see your progress! You look fabulous
  11. Like Dooter, I'm also a Dr. Kim patient. I've only been sleeved two and a half weeks but things have gone great! I read about the binder and think it would have been helpful but I didn't get around to securing one. I'm moving slowly from solid liquids to purees with no vomiting or diarherra. Just a little gassy when I eat too fast. I tolerated water well from the start and I've built back up to walking 4 miles four times a week. I was on an anti-depressant before the surgery and so far it's holding the fort. There are definitely a wide range of experiences for this surgery!

    Taking Anti-Dep Post Sleeve

I had capsules for Effexor and planned to do the same thing you did. But in the hospital, they gave me a prescription for Effexor in a tablet. The doctor told me opening the capsule and taking it all would give me the full effect of the drug all at once instead of having a time-release effect. You just confirmed what she told me! Maybe you can get your anti-depressant in a tablet?

    Major Vent - Medical Naysayers

Liposuction? Talk about totally irrelevant!!! That guy was a total weirdo!! You sure handled it better than I could have. Best of luck to you going FORWARD!!!
  17. Inspired? Honey, you made my day. Feeling a little out of sorts about work. I'm going to turn my attention on ME. Headed to get that Crystal Light and Isopure. Thanks so much!

    Newbie - Post Op Meds

Same here except I was on Effexor XL which is a time release capsule. The hospital physician advised that I not open the capsule and take the whole thing because I would the effect all at once. She prescribed a tablet form I now get to crush. Oh well. I'm sure I'll even get use to that.

    Confused : /

I hear your pain. I LOVED spaghetti and tacos. I like pizza alot. So I'm only 2 weeks post op but I've been collecting some great recipes from some health sources like skinnytaste.com, emily bites, and the world according to eggface. This includes some wonderful pizza and taco recipes that should satisfy the "taste" of my favorites. I don't know if Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps or Hungry Girl WonTon tacos will satisfy the crunch I loved some much about tacos but salsa fixes much! Good luck!! G.

    2 Days Post Op

The most important thing you have to cope with right now is healing. For a full week post op, I tried to drink as much of my protein as I could, sleep, read, walk, sleep, watch TV, more protein, walk and sleep. The rest will come in plenty of time. This forum and my doctor's instructions got me through. Welcome to the Loser's Bench! G.

It's pretty hot, but I'm dancin' away for you in here Texas! G.
  22. Congratulations on your great weight loss! You deserve to be very proud. As for all the bad luck, well, we all have bad luck. You just cashed in on all of yours for the next 6 months! LOL At least we can hope so, right? What a trooper to pour it all out on this page and step up! Even with the injury, I'm sure you'll find a way to keep succeeding! G.

    July Sleevers

Yes! I have the same thing, I had my one week post op on Tuesday and asked the PA to look at it. She said it was fluid under that large incision and it would be absorbed. I find that incision is less sore if I use a pillow to avoid too much movement during the day.

    Hiatal Hernia

I had no symptoms and they didn't find it during the endoscopy. But they found one during the surgery and went ahead and fixed it.
