Bariatric journey Multiple procedures Since 2019 Preparing for surgery

  1. Try the gas x. I bet it will help.
  2. Next goal is the NYC marathon in November. I've done several half marathons, but this will be my first full. Surgery 2 years ago and down 100 lbs! Let's see what happens
  3. Congrats all. I am also 2 years out. I surpassed my goal and just started training for my first marathon.
  4. I'm also 2 years post surgery and only my dad knows (and my docs). I don't plan to tell anyone else. It's my business and I think that's ok.
  5. The benefits to a personal trainer for me (other than the obvious) is that it's a way to have some accountability. I don't want to pay all that money only to cancel or not use him. So, it's a motivator to get to the gym knowing he's waiting for me.
  6. Not going to lie to you...I had surgery 2 years ago and I STILL miss my diet coke, but I gave it up and it's not worth the risk.
  7. Agree with other posters-- don't compare your results to others. I lost slow and steady. It's not a race
  8. Do you track your food/calories? I found that really helped me.
  9. My port was really sore for 1-2 weeks after surgery. Totally normal.
  10. Id like at least to reach 50+ miles running this month I'm almost there!
  11. Yes. I felt like I did 5000 sit ups, but it gets better each day.
  12. I said I was having gallbladder removed!
  13. I have this too, but I don't think anything changed after surgery. I think I just have poor circulation. However, in some cases it could be a thyroid issue.
  14. Stayed in hospital 1 night. Back at work 6 days later.
  15. Did anyone get a new lower profile port after tummy tuck surgery? I'm just curious that might be something I would consider
  16. Me! Surgery May 2012. Lost about 90lbs.
  17. Mine is just to the right of my belly button. It's visible now that I've lost weight. Oh well!
  18. Checking in 134. Met my monthly goal and overall goal!
  19. Still at 135 which is A-OK with me!
  20. I was nervous too. I was banded may 2012. For the 2 weeks before surgery I was excited and nervous and anxious and all those feelings. I felt good about the research I had done, and I'm aware of the risks. Now I'm 90 lbs lighter and still cannot believe it!
  21. smoothie or Protein shake sometimes work for me. It's hard in the morning.
  22. Are you thinking about a revision? I hope you're feeling better
