  1. Hello Twoplusone227 My cycle was due the day of surgery so I asked the doctor a week prior. I was told it would not matter and if it came he would still do the procedure. Luckily it came the day after surgery but you do need to ask your surgeon. Best of luck on your journey
  2. I am 18 days out and tonight after a 20 minute walk I went to the refrigerator for a bottle of ice cold water. I get the bottle put a crystal light and shake it up take a big swallow and all of a sudden I couldn't breathe. Then I could feel the rumbling in my chest and then it starts the vomiting up water... Wow I guess I can't chug water like I use to before surgery!!! This is an awful feeling.. Anybody else experience this?
  3. Thanks ShapeShifter I totally forgot about sipping! I think I was so thirsty and hot it slipped my mind

  7. Congratulations on your weightloss so far! I am two weeks post op today and I feel the same way... Wish I would have done this sooner but I Am grateful that I have it now
  8. Wow I had my two week and four week appointments scheduled prior to surgery. Then after the month I will go back every 6 weeks until 1 year out. It's sad that your doctor did not do any scheduling for you prior to surgery. I would say give them a call to find out why this was done..

    Here I Go!

Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way! You will be fine
  10. ValdostaGA you have to do what is best for you! I had no support until after the surgery! Either way I had made up in my mind if they didn't support me it would be okay! You will find support within yourself that you thought you never had! Also this forum is a wonderful source of support too! Best of luck on your journey
  11. If you don't follow the pre-op diet you could really end up hurting yourself! Why: because the purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver so that it is easier for the surgeon to get to your stomach. I have learned that every doctor is different with pre and post- of course do the best you can to stuck to it..... I am now 13 days post op. it is not easy but I am dohbg this for me my kids. Whenever I want to not comply I think of all the reasons I had the surgery and I don't do it! Wishing you the best on your journey

    Have A Question...

Every doctor is different if he hasn't mentioned it ask the NUT or nurse to tell you. I hAd to purchase my first month from the doctor and they are all chewable: multivitamin, iron, calcium and anti-ox. Surprisingly they don't taste bad. Contact the dr and I am sure they will share this information with you
  13. NDN RN, yes the pre-op diet is difficult but you can and will do it! Before you know it it will be over and you will be headed to the operating room. I am 13 days post-op and I can tell you the pre-op diet really does prepare you for life after the operation...it is not easy afterwards but it is well worth it! Best of luck on your journey

    Family Not Supportive

Hello Joy, I am 13 days post op and my parents were not very supportive until after the surgery was over. You have to do what is best for you and WLS is something that is difficult to explain to loved ones. I knew it was something I had to do and I did not let anyone stop me from doing it. Now they are so supportive and they understand now. Hold ur head up and know how they feel about it will change
  16. I am eating baby food but only the fruit on my list: applesauce, bananas, pears, mangos. Most times I put it in with my shakes and it tastes pretty good! It's not the end of the world
  17. No you are not crazy you are just ready to complete the process!~ I had something much worst happen and after all of the frustration it finally hit me.... EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! Take this time to just get all things done for the pre-op diet, post op, hospital stay, taking to family members about helping with your little one while you are in the hospital! If you haven't already. I was put off for weeks and when I say weeks it was probably 8 weeks from the time the paperwork was finally submitted til I ended up being approved for the gastric sleeve!!! Believe me in the end all things worked together and I came out with a better surgeon and the sleeve! It will come together don't get discouraged and get ready because it will be hear before you know it!!!! I am not 15 days post-op and doing great....Praying that they get their stuff together for you and just be patient... it is well worth anything you are feeling right now.... Keep me posted Blann
  18. I am 11 days post-op, I am doing protein shakes, water, chicken broth, SF fudge popsicles, SF popsicles, SF Jello and Baby food: bananas, applesauce, mango and pears. Not hungry physically just starting to battle a little with head hunger!!!!

  20. Thanks everyone for your responses. I didn't have a bandage on it and now that I think about I probably should have had one but right out of surgery I had no bandage. I don't recall bumping or doing anything to it. I will cover and continue to monitor the bleeding. You guys are awesome
  21. Hello all, I had surgery Sept 10 and everything has been fine no complaints or complications. Today I started bleeding at my belly button induction area. I called the doctors office and talked with the nurse. She asked if the blood was dark and if I had a fever. I told her the blood is dark and no fever. I was advised to keep it covered and if the blood increases or changes color call them back... Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do? HELP
