I also work in a very unsupportive setting and will not be telling anyone. I am scheduled for 6/25 and I am just taking vacation. I have been on the liquid diet for the past two weeks and will continue after surgery. I plan to tell everyone I am on the same liquid diet that Chaka chan is on lol

As I reflect on the past few months I really believe this was the best choice for me. I am checked in at the hospital and changed and I know by the grace of God everything will be fine. I wish everyone being sleeved today a safe surgery and speedy recovery. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

One year ago today, I was given one year to live if I didn't get a lot of my extra weight off me in a hurry. It's only 6:40pm, but I'm hoping I'll live until Midnight.
Just thought I'd share that huge milestone with my family here. I'll Celebrate with an extra long workout tomorrow morning! And a cup of Decaf coffee!!

Kayte819 I agree with you, culturally speaking black men do like a "thick" woman whereas white men do not. It's only natural to be concerned about his reaction to how your body is changing he is your husband after all. Maybe he has concerns of his own that he hasn't voiced like being concerned about the attention you may get from other men as you continue to lose weight. I would encourage you to express your concerns about his comment just to give you both a chance to talk about the changes you're experiencing. I hate you were made to feel like your question "was funny" because it was a true concern for you and no one should be made fun of. I mean, that's why we're all here in the first place. To obtain encouragement and support in an enviornment that doesn't judge us for superficial reasons such as our weight or our color. Just saying....

Sara...CONGRATULATIONS! Your story is such a warm one. I recall his proposal on the train, with the boys right? So romantic (giggle like a school girl). You look stunning girl.
I wanted to share with you, long before my surgery I saw you on u-tube and your post along with a few others here on VST really helped me to make the final decision on VSG. I have not been as healthy and happy as I am today in many years. I have not posted a pic yet, at first I was concerned about my ex, now I am not concerned at all. I am hoping I can inspire others, I want to hit 100 down then I will post before and current (eekk).
So my post to you is THANK YOU sleeve sister and warm wishes for a long, wonderful marriage to your best friend!

I am also trying to train myself to east for post surgery, what I have decided to do is eat what I want four days a week and focus on the high Protein liquid diet three days a week just so I can get used to the shakes
