    From the album: AFTER PICTURES!!

My wings are showing lol!!!!! Strangely enough I DON'T MIND THEM:)
  4. Ask not what your sleeve can do for you, but what can you do for your sleeve!!! The holidays are here! cookies, gift baskets, office parties,or as I called them, extra calories, extra carbs, extra fat ladies and gents! Don't leave it up to your sleeve to do all the work. Protect your self: keep regular meal times, stack up on bulky proteins and stay hydrated( your kidneys will love you for it). Do not skip meals or stay hungry.Think ahead and stay focus y'al!!

    Six months later:)

    From the album: AFTER PICTURES!!

Second pic shows my progress from last month.
  6. perfect answer!! as you progress to bulkier protein, the restriction of the sleeve will be more noticeable. But the simple fact that you feel satisfied after eating some soup, is a sign that you are on the road to success:)
  7. I am in charge of my body. I am in charge of my food intake. I made the decision to have surgery. What my friends are eating, what my husband chose to eat, is not my problem. It does and should not affect the commitment that I made. I am done feeling sorry and making excuses. I can not continue to play victim anymore. I am in charge and in control. Every decision, every food choices must be to better my life. I can not and will not blame any one else for MY weaknesses.

    4 Days Post-Op & Overwhelmed

Hang in there! I thought I was ready for life post op as well. Boy did I realized I was wrong lol! It was a learning experience and the people on this were a great help to me. At first I was only able to handle small sips of my Water, a bit or so of my Jello, and the smell of broth made me sick. My favorite Protein shake pre op, made me gag post op. It is a change. But you will learn new ways to eat, what works and what does not. You will adjust and build a new routine. Six months ago I didn't think so, but now I can honestly say: it does get easier!!

Five Days Post Op & Starving!

it does get easier! hang in there. As you healing things will get better and easier. Also, once you start eating solid foods, you will start feeling the "restriction" from the sleeve and feel "full" sooner. During the first week, my head hunger was unbearable! It took time for me to understand what I was feeling was not physical hunger. Every week will be easier than the last. Stay hydrated, eat slowly, chew well, get plenty of rest, and keep a positive outlook

  15. I feel that way every now and then. For me it's a love/hate kinda thing. I want food so bad, but can't have what I want or the amount that I want! So I go weeks just eating soups, soft food and shakes. But then I get over the phase
  16. Lost two pounds this month........YEP.......sigh......moving on:)

  17. I WILL PRACTICE #8 STARTING TODAY!!! WHAT A GREAT TOOL/WAY TO STAY IN CONTROL!!! I will also add a stop sign on my phone and underneath write my weight loss so far and why I can not give up my good healthy habits on one meal.
  18. Thank you for this!! this article gave me a new perspective on how to cope with the holidays.
