  1. Mine look just like that and i'm 3 months out. I've used the scar sheets, Mederma and Bio OIl - they still look the same, but I still use the Mederma every day. I am at the point where I just accept them, I have no plans to wear a bikini at my age.

    Heel Pain

I've had plantar fascities and torn achilles heal - latter is worse! For it I did acupuncture and Arnica gel. Went to podiatrist, he wanted me to wear huge boot that just was not practical - for me. Actually, staying off of it for a while helps as much as anything, it just takes time to heal. For both ailments, there are splint things you can wear at night that help some. I think there is a catalog called Foot Source or something like that; google websites that specialize or even Amazon carries some stuff. Also, with torn achilles heal, you need special tennis shoes from now on that provide stabilization. I hurt mine doing Zumba! But also common with basketball and tennis, etc. (quick sideways motion). It's hard to self-diagnose foot problems!
  3. He's my surgeon and he and his PA are awesome - but I was self-pay, so I don't know how it works with ins. Good luck to you!
  4. Best wishes for you! He's my surgeon; sleeved 06/05/12 - he's awesome!!
  5. One thing for sure can be said about WLS, you find out who your friends are!! That's worth a few bucks! I think we've all "been there, done that". I've sure motivated my already skinny friends to go on a diet to make sure I don't weigh less than them! I love that pre-surgery phrase from friends, "Can't you just go another diet?" Why, because all the ones I've gone on thus far have worked SO well??

    Help Pls Need Advice !

Unjury has an unflavored powder that you can add to soups or fruit juices. That and beef broth were the two things that got me through the liquid stage. Good luck!

Help! Will I Be Able To....

I sure wouldn't plan anything like that so soon. My instructions were to not ride in a car over an hour without getting out and walking around due to clotting. That in itself would be a big deterrent.
  9. Hi - Just sent you a FB Friend request - thanks! Donna Ogden
  10. No laxatives for me, but EVERY dr. is different, so that would be your source to find out if you do or not.
  11. Yep, it's normal to feel that way! Two nights before surgery, I was about 50% sure I'd back out. I posted on another forum and asked for help and when I woke up the next morning, I had all kinds of reassurance, and I felt better from there on in. Also, I kept going over all the reasons I NEEDED a sleeve. We're human, surgery is scary, it's normal! Best of luck to you and all the others being sleeved this coming week!

    Carrots?!

Hmmm....interesting. I am too newly sleeved to comment, but I am curious - wouldn't you have to chew the heck out of a raw carrot to swallow it after the sleeve?

    Gallbladder Issues?

I specifically asked my doctor; he said the odds are one in ten that a WLS patient will have gallbladder issues.
