  1. I never had them before surgery and now get them at least twice a month. I'm only 33. If anyone knows a reason why....I would love to hear.
  2. I used Chu and have had a few friends use her, too. We all had the sleeve. I think she is an excellent doctor. I would have the procedure and use her again any day of the week. None of us had complications.
  3. I used Chu. I was self pay also. She's awesome. 11 months out, no complications, and very pleased. I highly recommend her.
  4. My doctor cleared me for wine at 2 weeks. I have a few glasses every week since then. I am 10 months post op and have done very well. I'm almost to goal.
  5. I only lost 16 pounds the first month - my doc said I was perfect. Yes, it wasn't as much as others, but a loss is a plus no matter the number. Every person loses differently. Don't be discouraged. Keep your head up. You are doing a great job.
  6. Me too. Stuck at 154. It goes up and then comes right back to 154.
  7. Thanks for all of your sweet comments. I feel so good about myself. I'm not going to lie, the first three months were rocky, but worth it.
  8. Here is my before and seven month after pics. I'm the one in the middle. Best thing I've ever done for myself.
  9. I'm in the same exact boat, ddfinn. Sleeved on march 7, have lost 60, and stuck on 159. Up a pound, down a pound, for the last month. Starting boot camp tonight. I want to get to 140.
  10. Thanks, Neil. I enjoyed your post. Everyone is different with different doctors. Do what is best for you. Diets do not work. This is a new way of life for all of us. Everything in moderation. Don't worry, be happy.
  11. I would like to lose 25 more pounds.
  12. I am a little over six months out. I haven't lost any weight in over a month. I have been a very slow loser since the beginning. I have lost approximately 50 pounds, that is including pre-op. I really think my body is not going to let me lose anymore. Any one else stop at six months?
  13. I use low carb slim fast. 20 g protein, 2 carbs, and very low sugar. I love them!!! I drink one everyday.
  14. Steak and meatballs....at different times, of course.
  15. I also take medication. My doctor told me I could swallow the whole pill immediately following surgery. I did and have had no problems.
  16. Did they use glue? I had an allergic reaction to it. It was miserable. I would wake up itching. I lived on Benadryl for about 2 weeks.
  17. Picture was taken pre op. I've lost 45 pounds counting pre op diet. I'm 4 months out. I'm losing very slowly but it's still losing. I want to lose 30 more.
  18. Dr. Chu wanted me to take off two weeks, but I'm a teacher and had to get back to school. I promised I would take it very easy and went back one week post op.
  19. Dr. Chu patient here. I had to have an EKG. Went to the hospital (about block from her office) and had it done. It was all very easy!!!
  20. Dr. Chu is awesome. 4 months post op and no problems at all.
  21. Ok, last challenge was a bust for me. I lose very slowly - probably around .5 - 1 lb a week. I'm only 4 months out. But I desperately want to keep losing, so I'm going to continue pushing myself. SW: 204 CW: 170.4 Goal: 160
  22. I've never done a challenge, but I'm in. I am a very slow loser but going to try to be aggressive by eating better and exercising more. I want to lose 12.8 pounds. Highest weight: 215 SW: 204 CW: 174.8 July 4th goal: 162 & Exercise 5xs a week.
  23. I'm from central LA. I chose to drive to Lafayette. I used Dr. Chu. She was wonderful. No problems whatsoever.
  24. My doctor told me I could have the occasional glass of wine at two weeks post op. I have been having a glass or two weekly since then. It feels a little different, slight burn, but still nice to have every now and then. Everything in moderation. I am almost three months post op and have lost thirty pounds so far. I have about 35 more pounds to lose until goal.
