  1. Are you pre-band? Is there any way you can switch surgeons?
  2. I am fighting the urge to weigh-in every day because of this reason. From what I understand it is totally normal.
  3. Congrats! I was banded and plicated and had some pain for a few days but by day 4 post-op didn't even feel like I had surgery FYI when you are in the hospital they keep you pretty doped up that you sleep most of the time. Be sure to ask for your pain meds when you feel you need them and take it easy as you are healing. This journey is exciting so get ready!
  4. Congrats on the approval! You are doing amazing things by fostering 12 children
  5. You are an inspiration! Congrats on the amazing loss
  6. I am suppose to eat 2-4 oz and have been averaging around 2 however I just had surgery on the 30th
  7. Well I have a work conference scheduled at that time in Orlando so I HAD to Disneyworld I will let you know how it goes. We have a quick service meal plan so it will be interesting to see what I can tolerate. I don't plan on getting any fills until AFTER the trip so I will be relying on plication alone until then, wish me luck
  8. Not uneducated...it's rather new! Plication is when the surgeon folds the stomach and double sutures it then puts the band on and sutures that. It gives a sleeve effect so you can loose more faster and prevents the band from slipping. It also reduces the fills you need. There are no long term studies done on it here in the US so I am kind of a guinea pig
  9. I'm in the US- Colorado Congrats on the 23lbs!
  10. My surgeon/asst surgeon and hospital fees amounted to $2350. I have insurance so I am not sure how much that differs with self-pay. When was your surgery? Always glad to meet another plicated pal
  11. I had surgery on July 30th and now feel as if I never had it at all with the exception of eating small amounts of mushie food. For anyone that is wondering if plication is painful I would say not any more than the band because my pain was minimal for a few days. I weighed in today at 13lbs lost and my blood sugars are great. I am so glad I added the plication option was totally worth the extra money!
  12. I am officially on the banded side! I had surgery last week and can't believe I am already 13 lbs down! I also feel like I never even had surgery.
