  1. It is normal. Everyday gets better…hang in there, take your meds!
  2. I was sleeved on Oct 30, 2012 and have lost 7 pant sizes! I went from a size 14 to a 7, but it has been a hard road. I am now just beginning to feel better. I had a swallow test and a Endoscopy done yesterday and everything looks good. I had about a month of nauseousness and a couple of weeks of vomiting. My doctor was concerned about the weightless, but after testing we decided that most likely the vomiting was from a stomach virus. To get all my protein or water in, it is hit and miss. I eat about ½ cup of Cream of Wheat and I am full. The first 2 months were hell for me and I just kept reading here from others to hang in there and each day will get better. I still fight for energy but my Vit B is low, hopefully with some Vit B shots I will be getting my energy back. I had a hard time believing that the day would come when I feel half way better, but it did come. So for those just starting out, HANG IN THERE, it does get better, just some have a smoother road than others.
  3. Those look so yummy! Going to try those for sure! Thanks for sharing
  4. Keep us posted I go in Tuesday to have a endoscopy to check for a stricture as well. Good-luck
  5. Tomorrow will be 3 months post op for me and I've had a hard time. One month of nauseous and 2 weeks of on and off vomiting (currently). This is the hardest thing I have ever done, I keep telling myself to keep my eyes on the prize but honestly I regret this surgery. I have my 3 month post-op appt tomorrow, hopefully the doctor will be able to help me get through this.
  6. You two look AMAZING!!! Congratulations on a job well done
  7. My back has been killing me for over a week. I have had two failed back surgeries and my doctor wanted to put in artificial disks but because I have Lupus the manufacture of the disk said not in Lupus patients. Actually my whole body is achy! Must be this cold weather My back pain was pretty much in control prior to surgery. On the 30th I will be 3 months post op.
  8. My smelling and taste buds were effective. I couldn't open the refrigerator without gagging from the smells. Everything tasted awful, especially all those yummy protein products that I loved prior to surgery, after surgery I couldn't stand! Started out with hot flashes, now I am just cold. I'm 2 1/2 months post-op and things are just starting to subside.
  9. Did you ever have these pains prior? The only reason why I ask is because I was taking a **** load of meds to help mask the pain (osteoarthrits, Lupus and back problems) because I stopped taking all those meds I've been in lots of pain. I also think because we are losing weight so rapidly that our muscles are weakend. When our muscles are weakend we can walk different and that can cause back pains. My body has been cold which makes my bones ache. Hope you are feeling better soon…((hugs))
  10. I'm 2 1/2 mod post-op and I feel your pain. The emotional roller coasters are so hard somedays. I don't know about you but reading from those that are at least 6 mos out and hearing how good they feel makes me feel so much better. Having this forum has been so helpful for me, I hope it helps you too. Hang in there
  11. Let us know what the doctor said. I also have constant nauseous and some vomiting. I go in next Wed, but the doctor is going to prescribe me another nauseous medication so hopefully this will help. It has been way too long!
  12. What brand of protein are you using? I heard Unjury unflavored isn't that good that you could taste it. I am really having a hard time getting in my proteins.
  13. I ended up sweating and hot flashes for about 7wks, It was horrible, my poor husband would be sitting next to me and would freeze because I had a fan facing me! I will on occasion still get hot but for the most part, I'm NOW freezing! Hopefully this will be temporary!
  14. Thank-you for the words of wisdom, my husband told me to stay away from diary also. Yes, this is going to be hard trying to find a way to eat protein. I am currently only eating cottage cheese, Jello and yogurt! I currently am drinking lactaid free milk, do you think I should stop that as well? CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! How exciting for you and your family. Thank-you so much for posting this, it gives me great hope!!!
  15. Called my doctor's office and the nurse said that she has only seen this a couple of times, BUT for whatever reason, a person can get nauseous and have a hard time eating and drinking and to remember it is only temporary! She will inform the doctor and see if there is anything different he has to say. OMG I am dwindling away!! Not a happy camper
  16. I have Sjogrens and take Evoxac 3x a day. I have to take a couple of very small sips while eating. I have to be careful because sometimes I forget and take a big gulp! Not good!
  17. Also, I have to keep spitting because I get saliva build up in my mouth
  18. very little then it got better. This morning I went to take a drink of water and drank too fast and it came right back up. Ate a little yogurt this AM and it did not agree with my stomach, now I am sipping water and I just feel like vomiting
  19. Dr has me back on clear liquids and told me to give myself a couple of days. The nurse said it sounds like my stomach is still swollen. If I continue with problems I will have to go back for testing. Has anyone felt like this 2 months after surgery?
  20. Since everyone is different, I would have someone stay with you at least for the first couple of days. Better safe than sorry. I was pretty weak and had lots of hormone problems with hot flashes, couldn't eat, so having my husband here with me was good. I also needed him emotionally. Hopefully you won't even need the extra body there and you can spend your time laughing, watching some good movies and great conversations!
  21. Mine looked like that too along with rashes. The doctor told me it was probably a irritation/reaction from the tape. I applied hydrocortisone cream and it helped. Also vitamin E, I also had lots of itching. I can't say how long it lasted but hang in there it will all subside soon.
  22. Haven't been able to eat eggs (smell makes me nauseous. I will have to try the crackers! This is the worse because I have no energy and it is Christmas Eve!
  23. I've been doing pretty good but since Friday I do not want to eat and I am nauseous. Nothing sounds good to eat and if I try to eat I do not like the taste. Everything prior to that was good, now I am in a slump. Any suggestions or has anyone gone through this at this post-op timeline? Even protein shakes are yucky! Which up till then I loved!
  24. Wow, you did wonderful! Congratulations
