POSE VS SLEEVE SURGERY
Never heard of this surgery till I googled it. I read that it is for those who want to loose up to 75 pounds. I wish I would have known of this surgery, I would have looked into it. Just do your research and find a website forum for those who had the POSE surgery and see what those that actually had the surgery have to say. Good luck

Your BEST NSV to date!
Ask your doctor about exercising, everyone is different. I never had thyroid problems, but I do take high blood pressure medication but my reg doctor told me she would be taking me off of them in June, if it still reads normal!

Too much weight loss
Do whatever makes YOU feel good and happy about yourself. Some people maybe slightly jealous on how amazing you look. Everyday I hear how thin I am and need to put on weight. My husband thankfully if VERY supportive. I am 5'5 and weigh 136 last time I checked. I am wearing size 6/7 but those are starting to get baggy. I DO NOT want to lose any more weight but it is hard. I average 700 calories a day. This brings me hope! Good luck

Issues with ursadiol/actigall medication?
I have capsules, but do you take it on a empty stomach? Maybe you should eat something first. My nausea continues and I am almost 5 mos post op. I became lactose intolerant and even though I cut out all diary, the nausea continued. Then I realized my protein powder had milk in it! Since I stopped using those my stomach is a lot better. Good luck

New To Forum
Very common! I too, did not like certain things I use to LOVE prior to surgery.(especially my protein shakes) There are many people here who have gone through this. It is only temporary, thank goodness! Good luck

When did you start to feel "normal" again?
I am 5 months out and I would have to say I am starting to feel normal. But, my old normal is not the same as my new normal. I still get nauseated and I have to weigh/measure my food and keep track of my protein. I'm still struggling with energy, just had my b shot at the doctors today. I'm just now able to start exercising, going to start swimming tomorrow. I also feel that by one year I may have a new "new normal!"

Whats the hardest part for you?!
My hot flashes started the 1st night in the hospital. The nurses put ice packs on the bottom of both feet and neck. They were god awful for 2 1/2 mos. Thank goodness I had the surgery in the winter, I would go outside in the middle of the night, rain or not just to help cool off. I would wear slip on sandals to the store because I would have to take them off quickly and walk on the cold linoleum. My reg doctor told me that some of her female patients that took Pristiq for depression were telling her they helped with hot flashes. So that is what did the trick for me! I can relate with the fans my poor husband would be freezing when sitting on the love seat with me and I would have the big old fan right in front of me blowing full force Nausea got a whole lot better when I switched to lactose free Protein shakes. Hang in there hopefully yours will be over soon!

Tummy troubles
My tummy problems had to do with the protein powder I was using. I have become lactose in tolerate and my protein powder had MILK in it! Now I do lactose free and my stomach is much better.

Whats the hardest part for you?!
As long as you go into this surgery fully prepared and understanding that your biggest fears may become real, you'll do fine! As for me the hardest thing for me was overcoming hot flashes and the emotional roller coaster. Also had I realized I became lactose intolerant and that the Protein powder I was using had milk, I would have turned the corner a lot sooner! Good luck

Interested in people over 55 who have had the Gastric Sleeve.
Hi I'm, 56 and had my surgery on Oct 2012, and I am just now feeling OK. Had lots of problems, drug withdrawals (27 pills a day and stopped cold turkey on all), hormone problems (AWFUL) hot flashes, nausea and vomiting, became lactose intolerant. Lupus flare up, horrible flu that turned into pneumonia! One month ago I figured out that the protein shakes I was using had milk in it! That was the only way I was getting protein in me! I ordered from Unjury since they have lactose free shakes and my gosh what a difference, so now I am finally eating a average of 650 cal a day, really need to be at 1200 to maintain my weight. Took 5 months but I finally turned that corner!
