  1. I'm 3-1/2 weeks out from surgery and feeling great. I have more energy, I'm walking every day. The small portions are hard to get use to but not too bad. Eating slow is a change too. I lost 16 lbs. before and 14 lbs after surgery so far. 30 lbs...! Can't wait until I reach 50 lbs. Everyone waiting for their surgery, don't worry. It is over in a flash.
  2. Well, I'm home from surgery and feeling great. I got my authorization Monday, had surgery on Tuesday and came home today. I feel great! Doctor said everything went well. I lost 16 lbs on my prep before surgery and a thats a good start. I'll post more tomorrow, I'm off getting ready for bed now. Good Luck to everyone!!
  3. Well, I started my prep last Monday, lost 11 lbs., scheduled for surgery next Tuesday (2/12) but still waiting on my authorization. They said it was no problems and everything should go as scheduled but I'm freaking out a little. Please let it come in today!!!
  4. Thanks!! I'll keep everyone posted later today (I hope.)!
  5. Great!! I will hear from my insurance today! Wish me luck!!
  6. Good luck!! I'm wanting off all meds too. I'm scheduled for 2/12. Just waiting on the letter from my insurance. Fingers crossed it gets here this week so we don't have to reschedule.
  7. Thanks everyone! I'll be 65 in March. I just want to be healthy and get off my meds. I like to look at the positive side of things and I get all that from you all! Thanks again. We must start an over 55 group! Sounds great!
  8. Anyone over 55 having the Gastric Sleeve Surgery? I'm over and I'm scheduled for Feb. 12th.
  9. Wow, good luck. I guess you are on the liquid pre-op now. How is it going?
  10. I'm with you! I'm doing this for me too. I'm waiting on my authorization letter from the insurance company, but my doctor said they usually have it within 10-12 days. I'm scheduled for 2/12. Good luck to you!
  11. I see my doctor tomorrow and I'm sure I start around the 28th. Have you started yet? I know it is going to be pretty hard....lol
  12. I'm new to this. I saw my doctor December 13th, have done all my pre-tests and will see my doctor again tomorrow. She said I was a candidate for the sleeve and we would talk when to have the surgery. I think we will be shooting for Feb 12th. I know she will have to send for my letter of authorization, but I know my insurance covers the surgery. (Several people from my work have had it done and I qualify too.) Good luck to you and I'll let you know how it works out for me.
