  1. K6TYX I am in the same boat as you. MFP has me on 1200 cal a day and I am loosing very slow. I am going for my 2nd fill on August 9 so I am going to check with the doc to see if I should lower my daily calories. I had my surgery on June 1 an am down 26 lbs, 12 of that was from my pre op diet. I am going to drop to 1000 till I see him on the 9 th to see if it helps. I will let you know how it works for me. Feel free to add me on MFP eahalstead
  2. I am glad that I am not the only one who feels that the weight loss is slower than I expected. I have lost 26 lbs. I really wanted to be under 200 lbs by now but I am still loosing a little each week so I am happy with that. I go for my 2nd fill next week so I am hoping I get some restriction with that. My doc is pleased with my loss, he suggests loosing no more than 2 lbs per week. I think you are all doing great and you are the people that keep me going. I am so glad to have this site to "talk" to other people who are going through the same things.
  3. Please feel free to add me eahalstead
  4. Please add me too eahalstead
  5. I agree with everyone, my fitness pal is the best.
  6. I had to do a two week Optifast diet and I lost 15 lbs. you can loose 10 lbs by your surgery!
  7. I am a little more than a month post op and I have lost 25 lbs. I just had my first fill so I a trying to loose 2 lbs per week until my next doctor visit in one month.
  8. Try everything! Do you have any friends that do any group exercise classes? I am not someone that likes to go to classes alone so it helps to go with a friend. Do lots of different things to see what you enjoy. The more you change up your routine the less likely you will get bored with it. I have a bike and I try to ride a couple days a week I try to swim a couple days a week and I really try to walk some every day. My daughter and I have tried all kinds of classes from Zumba to yoga and very time I finish a class I feel like I have accomplished something. Classes seem to push me to do more than I would if I was just exercising by myself. Good luck to you.
  9. I do drink iced tea or coffee almost daily. I don't drink sodas though. I don't drink more than a glass or two so I am not worried about too much caffeine. Just like anything else, moderation is important.
  10. I agree with 2muchfun. You really need to listen to your body and stop eating when you get the signs you are full. As soon as you get the stuck feeling stop eating and think about what you are eating, why you are eating and if you are really hungry.
  11. I just had my first fill last Monday and I tried to eat a bagel yesterday for breakfast. I took one bite and I felt terrible for about 20 minutes. It felt awful and I don't want to feel like that again so I won't be eating them anymore. Everyone is different though so if it something you really don't want to give up try to see if you can eat them toasted as others have suggested.
  12. I gained a couple pounds back too. I am mad at myself but it sounds like it happens to a lot of people. I am just trying to increase the amount of exercise I am doing to keep my metabolism up.
  13. I am glad you are doing so good. Keep walking to work that gas out.
  14. Good luck to you. I am glad you are doing well. I got mine the day after you and I am not having any problems either.
  15. Mine was done last Friday and I am still red. As long as they are not hot, seeping or you are running a fever I think they are fine. Call your doctor though if you are worried.
  16. I was banded on the 1st and I am on clear liquids till the 14th then I can progress to full liquids. We all really have different rules.
  17. I had my surgery on a Friday and went back to work on Monday. I didn't feel like I was ready but once I got going and started getting things done I really felt much better.
  18. Mine has been irregular since I started my pre-op diet. I attribute it to the rapid weight loss too.
  19. Great idea, I am going to check it out right now.
  20. I went for my pre-op appointment today and everything is set for tomorrow at 10:00 AM! I will let you all know how it goes.
  21. Jolly, I am glad to hear that everything went so well for you.
  22. Thank you all for this information. I was thinking that I would have restriction right after the band placement, I am glad I know now not to expect that.
  23. I am scheduled for June 1st and I am on my 12th day of the liquid diet. Good luck to you!
  24. Awesome!! Keep up the good work.
