  1. Thanks Everyone for the thoughts and gestures; however I've been seeing a chiropractic and X-rays were Completed. Band is in tact but a bone aligned to my esophagus was completely out of place. After the doctor completed a few of her medical techniques in office I was like brand new. She states that it was causing acid reflux bad. And she was right.

  2. You should be doing the following:

    Journaling or logging your meals

    Journaling or logging your exercise

    Are you active enough?

Are you doing what you should?

    Attending support meeting/groups for lapband

Discussing your concerns with your doctor.

Before going to doctor I write down all my questions and concerns. When he ask if I have any....I tell him to brace himself. Remember, this is your lifestyle change and you have to live with it.

  3. Have you heard of Black Girls Run, they have changed my life by making running fun.. I enjoy hitting the pavement and running races with these ladies:)

Im a member of BGR Jackson, MS. I am currently working on the Walk B4U run training.

  4. Thank you all for all of the wonderful replies. My surgery went off without a hitch. I had to stay the night because my surgeon does it that way but it went well. I was up and driving the night nurses crazy...LOL. One nurse even said she was gonna buy me some marathon tennis shoes because I had a path worn in the hallway from all the walking. My hubby has made a full circle and I believe his lack of support was due to worry and nothing more. He called me in pre- op and asked me if I wanted him to come to the hospital and I told him no...LOL. Now that I am home' date=' he can't do enough for me and has even started talking about his own need to eat healthier and how this will be good for him too.

I am having a bit of trouble with the gas pain thing but he bought me some gas-X earlier and that seems to help with the discomfort in that area. I'm just taking the healing one day at a time. Supposed to go back to work on Sunday night ( I work midnights) but I think I will take an extra day on that.

I love this site and all of the help it offers. It really helps that most everyone is or has gone thru the same things and are so kind and willing to offer advice. Thanks bunches. :)[/quote']

    I love a happy ending

  5. Today is my one year anniversary. I'm great, blessed and still as excited as the day I went in for surgery. I look good, feel good and still maintaining. I've lost a total of 30 pounds and have plenty more to go. I've learned the foods that I like but the band does not; I know that also have to workout in addition to my lapband tool.

  6. If it makes you feel any better I do an hour of cardio 7 days a week and I'm in a major stall. And yes I do watch my calorie intake. My doctor wants an hour of cardio everyday so it could be that at your weight you need to be doing a lot more exercise in order to lose. Remember at lower weights your basal metabolism will burn less calories than if you weighed more.

This is my story however I keep pushing.., some days are hard. I can't see my recent weight loss but know it has happened

  7. I'm in Hattiesburg and Dr Donald is my doc! He's AWESOME! I also deal with insurance and I know tricare can reverse for lots of reasons. I'm sure you've checked all this since you decided to declare bankruptcy.... Make sure they have you right in that system not just the Humana system.

    Ready to change my life!

Laura....thanks.. Great group of people. Well worth the drive.
