I calculated your current BMI according to the measures you provided. It's 35 which would have you in the obese category however some insurance companies will not approve this surgery unless you have some comorbidities (high blood pressure, diabetes or prediabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea...just to name a few) to accompany this lower end of the BMI range. This is something you should look at as well in making your decision. I don't know if you are insured, but that maybe be a deciding factor for you. I personally would have the surgery before I developed the comorbidities. But that is something you would have to research. Good luck!

Malabsorption issues was my biggest concern. So far, the only vitamin deficiency I have problems with is vitamin D. Now with that said, I had horrible a vitamin D deficiency prior to surgery, so the deficiency is not secondary to the surgery. I did a lot of praying. I received my answer. Learn about the process, research it. Get on boards and talk with people like you are doing now. Of course I am going to say get the sleeve! I am a success story , but I think you need to do what's best for you! Good luck!

Comments like this you will never forget. My own father told me when I was 15 y/o that I would be so pretty if I would lose 10#. ( I was 20# overweight according to the weight chart...my BMI was 21% according to biometrical impedance tests which is normal wt.) What did that equate to a teenager? You're butt ugly...Worthless. Since that day....never once have I thought I was pretty. Cleaned up, dressed nicely, makeup on..yes...pretty nope..not even on my wedding day..I looked into a mirror once. Family portraits..good luck finding one in my house..I hate pictures of myself. Now that I am older, wiser, and married..blah, blah, blah....I still think I am ugly. Oh well...ugly and thinner is better than ugly and sick from being obese.

I find tea is easier on my sleeve than coffee, although I do partake in Joe Muggs as often as I can....sugar free of course! I had my operation on April 3rd. I was at a preop weight of 367# although I had been higher. I am current 251# I wore a 4x top and 28 pants. I now wear 22 pants and XL shirts. I am down 116#. Feeling better everyday! Just gonna keep on keeping on! I am 5'8" tall as well.

Yes..but I had GERD prior to surgery and mine is 10,000xs worse now. I am on a daily Dexilant 60mg pull and if I miss it I know it! I have it so horrible I would wake up choking on the reflux. So, I suppose I will be on this the rest I my life.

I agree with your 20 minute time line if the sperm is in a moist, alkaline (semen) environment that is in one blop in a cup or section of the body, since I personally have lived invitro I understand the necessity of "fresh" sperm if you know what I mean. If the semen is exposed to air and the semen is dried to the skin the sperm are dead. Look at sperm FAQ' on webMD which is a recognized provider of medical information. You can also learn about sex and it's functions for the original poster. I do hope you set yourself up for an appointment at a local family planning clinic. They can talk to you about abstinence, various types of birth control, risks of STD's, ect etc.

Ok I will agree to your point. My point is to treat that person as equally, verbally nasty since that seemed to be her M.O. An eye for an eye I guess! Also, I want to make a while different point because its a pet peeve of mine....nothing against you of course. To me, the definition of "reverse discrimination" means "the opposite of discrimination" which means no discrimination occurred. The media has perpetuated this phrase. If you discriminate against someone whether its fat on fat, fat on skinny, or skinny on fat...it's discrimination. Where the heck the word " reverse" was incorrectly added to create this asinine phrase is beyond me. I hate the media continues to utilize this phrase as proper. Thanks for the info! I will check out your recommendations! I am really enjoying Teavana's maharaja Chai Oolong & Samuri chai mate. It's was a sampler they had and it is a delicious winter tea...reminds me of fall..would be great steeped with wine..I also bought White avurvedic chai...I really disliked this tea. The best description I can come up with is spiced grass clippings!

Just to reiterate, sperm die within minutes of being exposed to air ie. outside the penis and outside the vagina. It is highly highly unlikely a pregnancy will occur through this method.
