  1. Thanks Rootman! I am just happy to know that I will be around for a long while! My fear was that it was oral cancer, but thankfully it wasn't, so given a choice..I will definitely take what I have! Thank you for all the support, I needed it!
  2. Thank you..I have a lot more miles to go...but I just take them 1 step at a time!
  3. Ok so some of you have been following me in regards to my gums that have been causing me problems. So I got back my pathology report, and here's the verdict: lichen planus- an inflammatory condition that affects mucous membranes. It is not passed from person to person. It is an immune disorder that occurs when the immune system attacks the cells of the oral mucous membranes. Apparently, it's a chronic condition and the reason for the abnormal immune response is unknown. So I guess I have a super efficient immune system that doesn't know when to stop..LOL. It is treatable, but it is something I will be living with and treating for the rest of my life. And that's better to have than cancer of the mouth! Funny enough..it affects middle-aged women...oh well! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes...it was definitely appreciated!
  4. Oh yes you could!!!!
  5. Alex I am having the same issue ..I also have the iPhone 4S.
  6. I have turned everything off in VST I possible can and the notifications are rolling in still. And the really bad part is that there isn't anything new showing when I look at what the notification says and what is actually in the forums. Think I may try dropping the app and see if it helps..although I have seen others say it doesn't.
  7. I am still receiving notifications as well and I did turn it off. Thanks Alex for your help.
  8. Yea Tabby! Keep up the awesome work! I have missed seeing your posts..but it's ok..I bet it's because of all those dates you have been going on!
  9. Well...you could always say "Really? Wow..I must be a fast healer because insert whatever information you need to here". Sounds to me that they love you and want to encourage you. While this may be getting on your nerves if you keep repeating the same thing over and over, they will get bored with telling you stuff because obviously you aren't fitting the mold of what to expect. If not, they may be simply amazed at how well you are doing. Sounds like you have a great support system in place. Keep up the good work!
  10. We shouldn't have to turn off notifications if it would send the correct amounts of notifications. It has been working correctly up until this point which makes me believe it isn't an Apple issue because there have been no Apple updates for my phone. I believe it is a VST issue, however, I could be wrong. Alex, could you please look into this. I use my iPhone and iPad to view and post to VST. I do not use my laptop often, although I did to start this thread. Thanks for your help in advance.
  11. What is going on with this app? I am getting multiple notifications at once for VST at the same time. For example, if I am subscribed to a particular thread, I will get 7 notifications at once that one person posted to it. Please fix this. It is so annoying I want to delete the silly thing altogether. Thanks for you help.
  12. Thank you! I get lots of compliments!
  13. Here's some rural southern vernacular that drives me batty. Look..."mirlk" is on sale 2.50/gallon! WTH...it's milk for goodness sake...I can't stand the use of the letter "r" in words that it does not belong!!!! And BTW.....spaghetti is not a freaking vegetable side dish!!!!!!!!!
  14. Good heavens! You are definitely a trooper! Thank you for sharing your story. I hope things go better for you in the future.
  15. Thank you! I am crossing with you!
  16. Work for the federal government in a federally funded program and you'll talk plenty...LMAO! I am not a motivational speaker ..but that is a thought...maybe we could partner up and start a national campaign for vertical sleeve..would love to travel!
  17. Well..about 2 months after my surgery, I started having problems with my gums and I never had before..I have excellent oral hygiene..no cavities ..so I had to go to a periodontist...feeling ok today..the site itself doesn't hurt...but where I had the injection on that nerve does..so I have a headache..nothin that can't be managed! I am doing great! Thanks for asking....makes me feel better!
  18. Ok..update. Becoming not so numb. They took at pea size chunk out of my gum! Didn't hurt when it was done...but I am starting to feel it ...I will be sore in the am....too bad I talk for a living! I'll let you all know what comes back! Maybe it isn't an autoimmune disorder. But..if it isn't ..then I am back to square one ...oh well....I will cross that bridge when I get to it....
