there are some days i feel like I can eat all day and get 1200 calories in and then there are other days that I barely able to get 500 in. Instead of freaking myself out over it, on MFP go to the weekly totals and see if you are still in target range. some days I have way more carbs/fat than I should but I make it up on the other days of the week and I just make sure by the end of the week everything equals out, also, try not to graze, which doesnt keep us full very long. 3 meals and 2 Snacks. good luck

I lost some starting at 3.5 months out. It was traumatizing at the time. But I look normal and always did. It's just hard to see so much hair in the drain and brush. It will be ok! You will not go bald and if you lose hair it does grow back!

    Lacie,
Before I had my surgery I followed a woman's 2 year video log on YouTube and one of the last posts I watched was when she said, "Don't set a goal number!" She was speaking from experience. She said to make a list of what would "make" this surgery be a success (off meds, happy, etc.). She said this way no scale and no number gets to dictate if you are a success or failure.
Last month, my WLS support group coordinator brought in a plastic surgeon and he spent a great deal of time talking about the stupid BMI calculator. He said, after about a year post surgery re-evaluate yourself to determine if you FEEL like you've met your goal.
I'm "19" pounds from my "goal" weight, but I'm just waiting to see what my body is going to do. I'm personally choosing to follow the advice of these sources. It sounds to me like you need permission to trust yourself - so (tongue in cheek) I'll grant it for you! You look fantastic! You'll know when you are at goal!!
    Good luck to you!

    Hi,
I am glad you liked what I had to say. Don't wait until you quite working. You really only need about 10 days off and you can go right back to work. NEVER give another day of your life away waiting for the right time.
It is worth the effort it takes. I am always here if you have any questions or just want to talk about what it is like. I will always be honest and tell you the good and the bad side of thigs. I have NO regrets at all and I know it can change your entire life, it sure did mine!
    Hugs,
    Suzanne

It REALLY varies from person to person. You are doing FANTASTIC! If you want to know how you are doing, weigh it against yourself (it will help you remain sane). Always figure out how many pounds you've lost divided by the number of weeks that it took you to lose them. Medically speaking 1/2-2 pounds per week is spot-on. If you beat that due to this surgery - rejoice! If you make it - rejoice! And when you stall for a week (or two or three) - rejoice (knowing for once it doesn't mean you failed and will "quit" this diet - it will be short lived).
Welcome to the loser's bench and keep up the great work!

I still cook in the same quantities, but use my food saver and freeze the finished meals. It's awesome for my husband who works ridiculous hours and I know he can have a good meal even if I'm just in the mood for a deli-meat & cheese roll and some cottage cheese.< /p>
    Cool Mason Jar tip!

I hope this works out for you! I would think that you either qualify for "bariatric" surgery or not! I can't believe (....oh but I should...) that the insurance companies are going to get involved to the level of telling patients WHICH bariatric surgery to have! Grrrr.
I'll pray for your appeal! And if you get denied again....appeal AGAIN!
    GOOD LUCK!

NancyJerry got a reaction from CBT in People Sleeved Around 03/22
Sleeved 3/27 with a dream goal to lose about 80-90 pounds but will be ok with 70-75. . So far I've lost 50-52 pounds.
I walked regularly, right after surgery. Started biking by week two building from 5 mile rides to 25 mile rides in about 2 weeks time. Started the Couch to 5K running program at 6 weeks post op and joined a gym about 3 weeks ago. I now alternate between biking, running (end of 5th week of 9 week program) and I work out - step classes, Zumba, cardio/strength classes and yoga about 4-5 times per week.
Tomorrow I meet with an exercise physiologist to work out a strength and toning plan for me to follow. for the rest of the summer.
I could not do any of this except for walking and bike riding pre surgery! I love my new life!

I was sleeved 3/21/12. I have lost 91 lbs total -- 50 lbs pre-op and 41 lbs post-op. I am losing at the same rate post as I did pre; approximately 10 lbs a month. I had a stall at weeks 3-5 but have stayed fairly steady since then. I finally feel "normal" and am excited that I will maintain this weightloss which I never was able to do before being sleeved. I have had relatively few difficulties outside of Constipation. I get all my Proteins, liquids and Vitamins in daily and have found I have the best weightloss success when I eat a variety of foods and stagger my calorie counts (900 one day, 750 the next, 825 then 800, etc.) I have made my wardrobe "work" for me because I can't afford to buy clothes in multiple sizes, but today I discovered (big smile) that I went from a size 28 to a size 18. I kept saying outloud, "Really!? Really!? Size 18? I haven't seen this in 20 years!"

Man, that does really suck (pardon my french). But... What would it look like if we put a positive spin on it??
I SERIOUSLY PRAY that your mom gets her new heart and has no complications!
After you have your surgery and rock your sleeve, here is what you can do:
1 - know that you would have paid double to get this life altering surgery.
2 - get a kick-a$$ job with your rockin' new look
3 - send pics to your lousy cheating "love of your life" (sorry if you plan to take him back but you shouldn't you deserve better!!!!!!!!) and show him what he's missing out on
4 - spend the better part of some night with a knight in shining armor that won't cheat on you - without taking a cigarette break!
5 - get healthy and walk and exercise and be with your mom for many happy and healthy years to come!
I don't mean this disrespectfully in any way. I know life doles out lemons sometimes in huge quantities. Hang in there, it will all be worth it. YOU are worth it!
