    Drinking After Sleeve

Have you drank at all? If not I would suggest drinking something before the big day because your body is going to respond to alcohol a lot differently than before! I personally don't drink that much but if I do decide to drink it is usually vodka and Water mixed with either a splash of pineapple juice or lime. Lots of people don't drink because of the empty calories but i think having a drink every once and a while is perfectly fine, just be careful with sugary drinks such as daiquiris or margaritas... You will feel terrible afterwards. Also, I have experienced that it is nearly impossible for me to drink after I have eaten, I have to wait at least an hour afterwards to drink anything with alcohol in it! Best of luck to you on your big day!! Hope everything is exactly how you have pictured it!

    73Lbs Down!

In the beginning it is all trial and error...sometimes you almost have to over eat to know what your limit is! Believe me once you do you will know what is good for your body. At this point when I start getting burpy is when I know I have had enough.... I know disgusting! I have become a burping queen! Some food are a lot easier to eat than others but once you start consuming solids avoid foods like pasta and bread...they taste good of course, but fill you up fast and give you little to no nutritional value! Good luck on your journey, enjoy the ride to weight loss and getting to the losers bench!
  3. So I am currently down 73lbs...honestly can't believe it myself but it feels amazing! I went from a size 18, if I was lucky, to wearing anywhere between a 12-14....lord only knows how long it has been since I have seen that size! I have had an extremely positive experience with vsg and would do it all over again if necessary. I am loving my self again and starting to gain my confidence back to where it was before the massive weight gain! I was lucky that my recover was so quick and my three small incisions are basically gone....bikini body next year!! I a truly thankful every day for this surgery, it has changed my life! i am also very thankful for the continued support I get from my friends and family Prep op: 258, surgery day 5/7/12 weight: 249, current weight: 185

    Bcbstx Approved!

The normal hoops of 6 months supervised diet and the other evaluations. But I found out that the supervised diet was no longer required 5 months in so I decided to submitt to insurance and take a chance! I live in the Austin area.

    Bcbstx Approved!

Yesterday I found out I was approved by my insurance for VSG. I submitted on April 2 and had been calling just about every other day to see if it had been reviewed. When I called yesterday the women for BCBSTX told me, it looks like according our records blue cross will NOT cover the surgery! I was like what really? Then she retorts, oh I apologize I read that wrong, according to our records blue cross has approved medical necessity for the surgery, you have been approved! For a second there I was devastated but when she clarified I kind of freaked out! I had been preparing and jumping through all of the insurance hoops for 6 months and I can't believe that it is really happening! I am still in shock, but can't wait for Monday morning when my Dr office opens so I can actually schedule a date!

    Envisioning A Certain Nsv

I completely understand...I even tried LB brand boots but they wouldn't zip over my calves! I can't wait to wear cute riding boots! Best of luck to you!!
  10. I have the same feeling, but I honestly believe God wants us to lives to our fullest potential! God made me in his image but I am the one who put on the weight, not God! I would suggest praying that is this Gods will for your life. If you are not feeling scenes of peace about the surgery then that might be your answer. But Also know that God loves you regardless
