    11Th Week

so today is my 11th week post op and I don't know how i feel i had my surgery march 7 and weight 289 today im down to 255, I wish it was alot more. It is such a hard process and a change of lifestyle that is taking me some time to get used to and not to mention my loving sabotaging husband. He loved to feed me before and still tries very hard to get me to eat and i tend to fall for his tricks which is in turn stop any weight loss. I can say that I am very active now last year in august i was barely walking 200 steps and now there are some days where i do 10,000 steps that's what a normal person walks a day and it's not so hard to be active any more for that I am grateful. Im just dissapointed with myself about my food consumption but I shall get better,
  7. i feel physically sick if i don't eat im not eating great amounts i eat very small portions and within an hour or 2 im hungry again im taking all my protein and i do control the urges for snacks i don't consume any sugar products for some reason i don't crave sweets its just the feeling of being hungry all the time
  8. im 10 weeks out the first 4 weeks i was not hungry but now i am hungry all the time and if i don't eat i get grouchy i have the need to eat about every hour to two but i don't feel satisfied or full i was under the impression that with the surgery the hunger sensation would go away at least that's what i was told
  9. i have to be on the liquid diet for 9 more days any suggestions on what i can have apart fromt the protein drinks

My Journey So Far With Kaiser

hi im going to have my surgery march 7, im about 280 and have been referred by 3 different doctors but the first 2 times i didn't consider it i thought it was too extreme, too hard and a waste of time what were they going to teach me. I am 38 now and suffer with osteo arthritis along with other illness and due to my weight it is very hard for me to walk some days or even get out of bed so when i was refered in august 2011, i decided to give the options program a try. I took the program it was 12 weeks and it was great i learned how to exercise how to eat better i can't say that i change my whole lifestyle because i was not ready i went to the support groups and saw that most of the people there were sick and one of the ladies made a great impact on me she had the sleeve but had only lost 20 lbs because she continued her bad habits after her surgery so it got me thinking of why im doing this and my habits were still there my class ended in november 2011 but when i was called to see the surgeon i didn't call back i decided i would give it one last try and loose the weight on my own. well 2 months passed and nothing i was still feeling fat, sick and horrible so i called my nurse and asked her for a reschedule so i started what i thought was a diet so when i saw my surgeon he chewed me out i thought oh he's going to send me home and tell me to loose more weight but after the chew out he scheduled me for surgery 03/7/12 12 days away he put me on a liquid diet with small dinner for 9 days and all liquid for the 2 days before surgery its going to be hard but would do it all over again kaiser is the best their not only giving me my health they also educated so that i can take care of myself you so i feel prepared now just one more suggestion try the support groups when i went they didn't know me but i felt very welcome kaiser has the best program i believe. thats my very long story hope it helps
  12. I met with my surgeon yesterday and he gave me a hard time about me not loosing any weight but he still agreed to do the surgery its march 7, 12 days away so he put me on liquid diet til then, im so scared i've had surgery before and i know what to expect, but i still feel very scared and im always hungry how can i make the hunger go away

  13. i am going to see my surgeon on feb 23, 2012 and havent lost much weight im so hungry all the time any suggestions
