  1. Hi Punkytres... Just got home from walking with a Wendy out at Fort Steilacoom. I'm in UP (right on the Lakwood border). We are working at getting together to walk once a week or so.
  2. Hey PineNut what year were you at Curtis, I graduated 82! Still live in the area, infact we bought my parent's house so we live in the same house with my kids attending Curtis. Do you still live in the area? We are going to try to walk out doors when ever possible, grandview is a good place, but in bad weather we do a couple laps around Tacoma Mall. We've been shooting for 11:00 Fridays, but can meet some other time if your not in town on Fridays. I work MWF, but am flexible, got to make walking a priority. Sue
  3. Merrillee...so diappointed, we'll have to make it next week for sure. Can flex time/day around if needed. Have a great time with hubbie Sue
  4. Merrillee...how is it the day after the fill, what is your diet now?
  5. Hi Molly, Cpngrats on you weight loss! I'm in Tacoma We will probably be walking down on Grandview when the weather becomes reliable, meeting at Tacoma Mall at present. We have a 2.5 mile walk around the new golf course opening this Saturday. Who's you doc?
  6. 10:00 is a little more diffacult for me than 11:00, but I'll try
  7. cindy...I totally agree with you one the emotional eating. Heard a quote yesterday that I'm going to post on my refer: "THE ABILITY TO FINISH IS ONLY ACHIEVED WHEN YOUR COMMITMENT IS STRONGER THAN YOUR EMOTIONS" --Bill Wilson, Metro Ministries, New York-- nbjen...CONGRATS! thanks for share your big day, really helps to have a real life account of what to expect. Look forward to hearing that each day is better and better! I didn't catch if you said which hospital? happy healing!
  8. Lucygirl...hang in there, I'm praying for you. I can't speak to any band issues (my banding is next month) but I did had thyroid surgery a year ago and the incision was quite hard...felt like a rope under my skin for many months, it's normal. If there is redness, swelling and/or fever definitely call your doc, better safe than miserable. Merrillee, we missed you yesterday, were hoping to meet. Next Friday should be good, I'm quite sure I can slip away for a walk, I've got to start making that a priority. Sue
  9. Congrats to all who've been banded this week...sounds like it's been a big week of bandings & first fills. I pray a sppedy recovery for all! What pre/post or diets have been required by your docs? Anone found good economical sources of protein drinks & vitamins?
  10. I could probably meet on Friday for a walk. I'll be gone to WSU to pick up my daughter (finishing her freshman year) on Wed/Thurs. I'll be working Friday, but if it is nearby I might be able to take a long break, been missing so much sork lately is an hour or 2 really going to matter?
  11. Is anyone meeting in the Tacoma/Auburn area tomorrow (Friday)? I have pre-ops in the early AM, then am somewhat free for several hours...been quite a while since I've had an afternoon to play! Love to meet up with some of you to chat.
  12. I have pre-ops on Friday starting at 6:30am...yikes...God made it dark for a reason...we're supposed to be sleeping! I have no idea how late the tests will run, but I could pop down the hill to Auburn if I'm done. I think I get my paperwork on Wed., might have a better idea then. Nice ticker Wenjea!
  13. Wenjea...you'd be proud of me, took Budge our for a walk tonight. Is 2 days in a row concidered a streak? I can do pretty much any day, I'll jus flex my sched., be great fun to meet!
  14. Answer to prayer...a loving husband. I wasn't sure how willing he would be, I was nervous to even approach the subject. It's hard for him to understand the weight issue, he couldn't gain 5 pound if he tried. I guess I need to trust more, his response "We'll make it happen" Thanks for your support honey...and i'm not talking about the money!
  15. Great to find more northwesterners, I'm in Tacoma, seeing Dr Oh Good friend (Wenjea) & I are working together, we've road the diet rollerdoaster together for years and are both looking forward to having a truly effective tool (band) to help us succeed this time. I'd be very interested in support group, I know this ride is going to be as much mental and spritual as it is physical. Having EGD next week, turned down by insurance, so we're cash pay...upside si things should move along quicker now that insurance is out of it. You're all in my prayers, please keep me in yours!
  16. Doc's officce called today, insurance won't cover, stupid exclusions!!! :angry I need to explore other means of covering te cost, don't want to give up. With a kid in college we just don't have a spare stack of $$$ sitting in the corner. Really feeling discouraged. Time to pray!!!
  17. I'm researching my options, going to meeting on Monday. Lap Band looks like the way to go, need to do something, just watching life go by is not acceptable! Great infomation from postings, important to hear from the "real people" not just statistics. Thanks
