How can I accelerate weight loss?

You have lost over 33% of your excess weight in only 7 weeks. Celebrate your achievement. Looking to accelerate things will only bring you down cos if you are self critical you will end up labelling yourself a failure when you are not. You are a winner.

Sheryl it seems that you and Michael are working well on your relationship. Denise - Mike You don't think it will last? Why not. You seem happy. Cuba was amazing. Havana with its old cars was great. We went in a car that was 59 years old 1 older than my husband!! It was very poor too but no one was begging. The second week at the coast was truest amazing. I went in to the sea for the first time ever. The Caribbean was warm and safe. I don't like Water but I felt very safe and secure. I timed myself so that I did not burn and but a high factor on. On the beach there were four poster beds with thatched roofs which meant I could be in the shade. I read many trShy books and relaxed really well. Terrible jet lag since I got back, only 5 hours difference but I'm going to bed at midnight and my body thinks it is 7pm! Wide awake!! Then when I do finally fall a asleep the alarm wakes me up. Back to work and I received today a very varied timetable for the days I'm working and I'm really pleased with it dos I will work with a variety of students. Weight is terrible and it is all down to Fluid intake and it is not water.
  6. Add chopped smoked salmon - delicious.

Just landed back from Cuba, great time but no need to hurry back. 3rd load of laundry in the machine! I will log in again in a couple of days, work Thursday. I'm dreading the scales tomorrow as I haven't seen any in more than 2 weeks. Glad people are returning.

    Sleeve soon!

Lulu_lulu, hope you arrived home safely. My story is not unlike yours- I had my op in Czech Rep and went by myself. The Co who took me was amazing though and the rep came in each day to check up on us (2 others who I didn't know) and brought ice lollies and smooth yoghurt. Unfortunately the Co went bust in 2013 and there is no follow up. Only my husband and kids know and to this day (op 2012) rest of family do not know. The first couple of weeks are hard (as in feeling tired) so try and take care of yourself. The heparin injections are easy to do, just grab a roll of fat on tummy area and jab. liquid is your friend so get in as much as you can. I used canned Soups and while on the liquid phase just strained any bits out then when I got to purée I just blended with a stick blender. I used a tablet grinder for the first couple of weeks but after that I could take my Vitamins whole. I was lucky in that my friend is a nurse and she removed stitches for me (forgot that she knows too!). If your GP has a practise nurse they should be able to remove them when required. I found sleep hard the first couple of weeks too, found it helpful to have pillow across lap when sitting and sleeping. The worst is over and there is nothing nicer than sleeping in your own bed.

How to Make the Most Out of Buffets

Have you tried looking on my protein.com. They have protein powder in individual sachets so that you can try different ones. This might be helpful for you to find one you can tolerate. Also Greek yoghurt is a good source of protein. Fage 0% is lovely but quite expensive (available all UK supermarkets). Aldi do a fabulous Greek yoghurt which is so creamy and delicious. Make sure you buy Greek yogurt and not Greek style yoghurt as I find there is a huge difference in protein. Sorry this hasn't helped with your Pizza Hut problem.

    "Powerful Yogurt"

I add a scoop of protein powder to plain Greek yoghurt for the extra protein. It goes quite thick and dry at first but with stirring it goes back to the yoghurt consistency.

Sheryl saw your post about instant pot. I have one and I love it. If you go back many pages on our posts I think I asked you guys for advice on whether to get one and at that stage non of you knew anything about it. Meat comes out really moist, just the way I like it.

How was your 5:2 day today?

I went to SILs funeral yesterday and I have to say it was the most amazing funeral I have ever been to. It really was a celebration of her life. The eulogy, given by her eldest daughter was amazing, the number of people who attended was beyond belief (approx 150 couldn't even get into the church!) and the wake went on until 3 am. We had to leave, without consuming alcohol cos we had to drive home and be up at 6am this morning. Pictures and video on FB showed that the rest of the family really partied and I'm sure Cathy would have approved. I thought it was going to be a really emotional and tiring day, and it was, but it was uplifting too. RIP Cathy Manley - you was one amazing lady.
