  3. Hello Beachcomber, I had my surgery done by Dr Nadzam on 3/14/07 the procedure went very well I was more than ready to leave the hospital after 24 hours, definitely follow the pre surgery diet it will make things go much smoother. You must be getting very excited and alot of mixed emotions. Speaking for myself it was the right decision I have lost 65 lbs since last year and am coming up on my anniversary and hope to lose another 10 by then, 15 would be terrific. Just saw your posting and saw Dr Nadzam name (great doctor) feel free to ask me any questions. Lots of luck

    Need Help Eating Right

I'm still on the mush stage so I eat Oatmeal, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs sugar free instant breakfast or applesauce Lunch I eat soups, sugarfree jello or pudding and i drink Adkins shakes Dinner Again soup I'm a big soup lover so thats no problem having it all the time, sweet potatoes mashed potatoes, chili tuna w/ lots of lo fat mayo or egg saled again w/ lo fat mayo and once in a while small amount of mac and cheese. Hope this helps I was Banded Mar 14 2007 and have lost 25 lbs already which is fabulous for me, when and where were you banded? There is a thread in here that talks about a cook book just for gastic bypass people, I forgot what its called but it is in the thread for foods. I have found that thread very help for ideas and recipes. Check it out. Don't get discouraged Also addicted to sugar free popsicles Best of Luck Mattie
  5. Just had surgery and feel great surgery only took 45 minutes and am adjusting well to band, eating broth, jello, tea, adkins shakes and water thats about it, but looking forward to stage 4, I would recommend this surgery for everyone who is at there wits end with trying to lose weight. I had my surgery in New Haven by Dr. Nadzam, am so glad I choose him as my surgeon, very kind perfessional and understanding. I know its only the beginning but I'd do it again in a flash. This site was great and i will continue viewing it to keep updated on all of you. It's nice to hear about everyone else and how they are doing. Good Luck to all! :nervous

  9. Hello everyone, I have just received my surgery date of 3/14/07. March 5th I go in for my work up for surgery. I have been getting ready for this surgery for 6 months and have decided to go with the banding verses the bypass. I'm quite nervous which I'm sure everyone is and am doing every thing by the book. I'am having my surgery at Saint Raphael's in New Haven by Dr. Nadzam has any one ever had him as a doctor? And would like to know your experience.
