  1. I'm in this is my first challenge I was sleeved 6/19. SW- 321 CW - 309 GW - 290
  2. Pevette, I contacted my Dr office on Friday I am in a lot of pain on my left side. I had surgery June 19th and have not felt pain like this even after surgery. I feel as though my stomach is on fire on the inside. When I move, cough, laugh, or even some of the slightest moves make me want to cry. I have not run fever, had a leak, or even had any smell come from any of my wounds. However, one of my incisions is red around it then the other. My stomach is also warmer there than anywhere else. My Dr asked me for a picture and said that it is an infection, he called me in an antibotic and I have to take it every 4 hours until my pills are gone. Don't hesitate to call the dr go to the er or clinic. An infection is not something to play around with for any of us. I have been on the antibotics since Friday afternoon and I'm still in a tremendous amount of pain.
  3. Congrats this is great news my insurance was very easy to work with as well. Does your Dr not have a nut on site mine did and I didn't have to pay anything for my visits with her? Just a thought. Also, the Psych eval is really easy I actually did mine over the phone. I'm happy for you with all the home work the time will fly by. I'm already 6 days post op. There are a lot of great people here that are all very supportative.
  4. All, I just wanted to let you know that I heard back from my NUT and this is what she had to say on Protein 100 'The Protein 100 contains collagen hydrolysate and casein hydrolysate. These proteins are missing important essential amino acids that your body needs. Not all protein is the same.'
  5. Sorry posted twice
  6. Ok I have a question for all those that have already been sleeved. When did you start your vitamins?
  7. Hi everyone I'm home from the hospital and doing good. However I an having a hard time drinking things I drank about 10 Oz of Isopure at the hospital before I could come home but now every time I drunk I feel nausea is this normal?
  8. I work in Downtown and live in Ft Worth. I'm using a Dr from Decatur for my surgery on Tuesday.
  9. Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone as ever heard of or used Protein 100? I was in a vitamin supply store earlier today and the worker was telling me about it. There are 15g protein in 1 oz, this just sounds to good to be true. I'm emailed my contact at my surgeons office but wanted to throw it out here as well. I searched and did not find anything on it.
  10. Newhope I'm also using Dr Stowers. I love his staff I love in Fort Worth and see them at the Keller location. I'm so excited to have someone using the same Dr as me.
  11. I have the mirena and I'm hoping my period does not come back I have had the mirena for 4 years and really have not had any issues. I have not been sleeved yet but I will be in June. Beecharmer and Kandib did ya'll have periods before your surgery with the Mirena? Have you just had 1 or are they regular now?
  12. Thank you so much MinaT I love this it's a great idea.
  13. Yes I do have a softie lol he is already worrying and can be a crier, he would kill me if he knew I said that out loud to anyone better. He will have his phone and a book for sure. The syringe is awesome I had not thought of that thanks so much.
  14. Dadto2 that is awesome for you and your wife how is she doing? We are sleeve siblings I'm June 19th also just up the road in decatur. I'm so excited, ready, with a touch of nervousness lol
  15. Great advice thank you both.
  16. Hey everyone, I am trying to get all my ducks in a row for surgery. I know I still have almost a month to go but the time will be here before I know it. I guess I have two questions, 1st is there anything that you would recommend for me to tell my husband to make sure he finds out after my surgery? 2nd is there anything either before, after, or during the whole process that you wish you would've known? My husband has supported me through this 100% and will be with me after my surgery stay. I've seen ear plugs and something to read or watch for him as he will get bored and there will be lots of things going on at the hospital. Thanks,
  17. You are one strong woman! You will be in my prayers and this will be awesome for you.
  18. I have only told a handful of people. Some girls from work know, of course my hubby he has been there work me at all my appointments and will be there for the surgery. My parents and sister know too I still haven't told my son, he is 10. I am not ashamed to tell anyone however I just want to wait until it's done. Everyone has their reasons one way or the other and there are always going to be those that support us and those that have something too say about it. We always have each other here on this wonderful site.
  19. So coming here helps with the stress and boredom eating? I am a stress eater along with a boredom eater and I am really worried about that when I get my sleeve next month. How did you cope with it at first. Any tools or advice is greatly appreciated.
  20. Awesome job, I can not wait to be in the same boat as you and many of the others in the group. I'm not sleeved yet but I'm scheduled for 6/19!!! I'm so excited.
  21. Hey TxMimi, I'm in Benbrook and I'm using Dr Stowers, he is in Decatur but has an office in Keller. All surgeries and the actual follow up is in Decatur though. I have a good vibes about everyone in his office so far so good. However I have her good things about Dr Smith in Fort worth also. One of the girls that works in my office had the lapband done with him. Best of luck. I can honestly say that I started my process on March 29th, which was my consultatiions, I've already done my pchy eval (done over the phone), my nutrition class (did same day as my consultation), and today I'm having my stress echo done. At the moment I am scheduled for surgery on June 19th, my choice to wait that long.
  22. Hi everyone, I'm scheduled for June 19th as long as my Stress Echo is good. I have to do that today. There are quiet a number of us for June already on here. I'm very excited and nervous all at the same time. Does anyone have kids and have they told them yet? I have not told my son, I'm just not sure how to yet. My Dr is Dr Stowers in Decatur, TX.
  23. I had to have a cardiac clearance test done not for my insurance but for my surgeon. However I did my nutritional test the same day as my consult and the physc eval was done over the phone the next day. I'm currently just waiting on my cardiac stress test. I found out today that insurance has approved me. I couldn't be more excited than I am right now.
