alovio got a reaction from 4myLuvBugs in 5 Day Post Op
I don't mean to brag but I feel really good today. I have been doing good with my protiens yesterday took down 1 1/2 bottle of Isopure and you know not to taste but with ice chips really cold not so bad. Had trouble with chicken broth tasted like sh*t, so I took a can of cambells chicken noodles Soup and liquified it in blender it was so good. I also have been walking about 5 miles a day broken up to four diff walks. This morning I moved stage two had a premier choclate shake that was really good cold, also had some plain cream of wheat not bad I added two splenda for flavor. Right now I feel a bit hungry but will have another chicken noodles when I get home, I only took about 4 oz of soup with small spoon. Felt full afterwards. I have lost 15 pounds since surgery on 4/20. And 79 since Nov. Looking toward to moving to mushies next week. I think I will go back to work a week from today. I am a barber so need to stand all day but I feel ill be ready by next week. Hope everybody is doing well also.

Fluids are most important try mixing 1/2 apple juice and 1/2 Water keep it by you and sip it I couldn't drink real cold drinks for awhile but everyone is different. How about popsicles and Jello all are fluids. This won't last long don't worry about the nutritional part we all can live a little while off what we have stored up in our body.

Last night was pretty comfortable. I had morphine pump at my disposal. I slept rather well. Today I feel pretty sore but nothing like imagined. Pain is about 4. Already went for two walks to get blood moving. Just started liquids. Nurse says one tiny cup per half hour. It's amzing but felt kind of full sensation with first cup. I should get released later today, ready to go home.ill keep everyone posted as I go.

I'm still at hospital. First of all Kaiser permente is best, couldn't have made it easier.Op went well felt extreame pain about an 8, probably not naausia then anything first 45 minutes after. Once they hooked morphine pump veena smooth sailing. Already went for two times
, already took my first leak. Tomarrow start with liqueds and liquid pain meds. I Thu.k everyone is differnent because this lady that went after me, she sound like they best her with a bat. Once the give anesthesia you knock out a.d wake up in recovery. I expect it to be harder but over all I am super saftisfied.

Yep, you can do it yourself. All it takes is constant diligence, self control and will power. Oh, wait, it's the LACK of just those things that got us in this mess in the first place.
I found that not only did I lack the self control but that things conspired against me. The are THOUSANDS of restaurants out there all serving larger and larger portions seemingly getting larger every year. food is cheap and abundant and high calorie, high carbs is the main ticket.
Maybe you CAN do it yourself, ME, I couldn't. I needed HELP, and that came in the form of a weight loss surgery called a VSG. It's just a tool, not a cure all. After the forced restriction due to swelling of the remaining stomach wore off I STILL have to watch what I eat and make smart decisions. Luckily the FULL restriction lasted only 6 moths or so. By then I learned to eat right and lost a LOT of weight. I no longer face that grueling hunger I used to have, no longer crave everything under the sun and get full really fast - something I just NEVER used to get - FULL.
So yes it is possible but hard. WLS is NOT the easy way out but it IS a viable way out. One that worked for me and thousands of others.
