  1. Even if the band caused cancer, so does smoking, drinking, radiation.... Heart attacks from obesity can lead to death, diabetes kills... We're all going to die eventually. No one can say how or when. We made a choice to get healthy to "better our odds" but (hint) you will still die of something eventually! So enjoy your weight loss and healthier lifestyle while you're still alive!
  2. I was where you are not long ago... Couldn't wait for real food! Now i can and I'm terrified!! I don't want to do something wrong or get stuck, or dialate my pouch... Each step comes with its own challenges

Can we get "stuck" before a fill? Ughh i feel like i was so prepared(or so i thought) before the surgery and now i'm a month out and scared out of my mind and feeling like I have no information!

Normal time frame for fills is usually the 6th-7th week postop so you're right on track. I get mine 6weeks post op... I'm nervous! I can barely get used to the careful eating without a fill... I worry that i won't figure all this out! :-/

I probably won't do the meatballs again anytime soon... I am too nervous with solids and chewing and what not... Will stick to strictly purees for now. I think once i figure out what i can and can't have, I'll be better.
  6. Feeling a little exhausted by all of this :-/ i tried having food today and all the chewing and taking time to eat, the planning, the worrying! I'm not regretting the band, just wanting to know I'm not the only one feeling this way! (almost 4 weeks out- on soft foods) Today i had just one meatball and did well with it but couldn't even eat the whole thing... I felt like the effort of eating it wasn't even worth the calories.

    How Much Are You Eating?

Im in connecticut... He didn't really tell me how much i should be able to eat, just what kind of foods i can eat. I'm just so scared to overeat... And preferably i'd like to not gain haha
  9. Just had my 3 week postop checkup and everything is right on track... The surgeon advanced me to soft foods aka mushies for one week and then i can start real foods. I'm just curious how much food people are able to eat at once at this point... I have no restriction/fill yet, i get one in 3 weeks. I don't want to eat too much and undo all my hard work on the liquid diet... Help!!
  10. @judych HAHA i felt the same way the whole first week!! I saw food everywhere, asleep or awake! The second week gets a little better, and the third week still better... Finally nearing the end of week 3... Mushies here i come!! Finally!
  11. I also got banded on the 21st (3 weeks out) and am having port pain. My surgeon just called to check on me and I asked him about it and he assured me it is normal because it is the only place they put sutures in the facia. So i guess we're all doing fine! Just gotta hang in there and enjoy the weight loss
