Wow Leo! Thanks for that post. As someone who's doing lots of research and hoping to be banded soon, you touched on lots of the things I worry about. I think most people here probably have fears about losing weight because we've all done it, only to gain it all back. What if I do this and still can't get the weight off? That would make me feel like the ultimate loser. Your post helped me cement in my mind that it isn't a magic solution, but will work if I work it. Thanks! Becky

Jeannette & Nicole, Thank you both for your posts. I appreciate them. Every bit of information I can get is helpful. I was so discouraged when I found out my insurance would only pay for open RNY from a general surgeon after a two year wait, if I was lucky. So the possibility of going to Mexico to have this surgery is very encouraging! I am getting excited at the possibility that maybe this dream can actually come true! All the posts on this board really help to compare, contrast and hear what the real story is. Thanks, Becky

Hi, Just wanted to introduce myself. I am very interested in lap band surgery and this place is definitely a wealth of information. I've been everyplace on the web I can find, talked to my PCP and attended a seminar given by a bariatric surgeon's office and have discovered our insurance probably won't pay for a thing. So, I'm interested in going to Mexico. I'm very encouraged by all I've read. Thanks! Becky
