  1. Have a PPO Plus with UHC and it involves a $300 annual deductible. My dr's office says I owe them $545 and now I'm worried that I'll have to pay the hospital some $$ the day of surgery. I was told I would only have to pay $300 out of pocket (not including co-pays for doctor visits.). My plan states that they pay 100% after the deductible and my deductible is $300. IDK why all of the sudden I'm paying an extra $245 to the surgeon, and possibly a second fee to the hospital. Anyone else going through anything like this?
  2. Ey folks!! Well, it's finally happened. I'm going under the knife. It's been over eight years coming. Finally decided I needs to do something about it, and since I'm still young, now is better than later. About me: I'm 5' 8" and 545 lbs. I work full time and I'm on my feet during 7-8 hours of my shift. Walking or leaning, but rarely sitting. It's wreaked havoc on my knees and back. Turns out I had a thyroid issue and medication has corrected it. Now to lose the weight. I know that most people will say that I should've been skinny by now if I've been looking to lose weight for eight years, but there's a hitch. I'm a performer here in Las Vegas and a lot of what I do is because of my size. I've done a lot of comedy and the fact is, my thinking was if I lost weight, I'd lose jobs. At this point, I've decided that my health and family is more important. So I got my full time job, with insurance, and have been doing a six month diet with my primary care physician. Now I'm all set for surgery. Have a pre-op meeting on the 28th and surgery on the 2nd and I couldn't be happier!!
