What kind of protein shakes are you guys drinking? I need to get ready made shakes. I've been blending mine and I'm rather tired of it.

I wish had only three days. On day 3 of 14! I whine alot.. LOL Sorry

I'm on day 3 and I've lost 6.2 pounds already in two days. I'm happy about the weight loss but I'm soooo hungry and tired. I've been reading about liver shrinking diets. Some diets allow boiled eggs and small green salads. I wonder if I eat a boiled egg if it will mess anything up with the shrinking of my liver. Well, good luck... ! Heres to hoping it gets easier!!

Good to hear from someone that had an easy recovery just after surgery. I was beginning to think no one had an easy time. Only pain! Scares me to death!! I'm to have surgery on the 21st. I've almost talked myself out of it time and time again. I want to do this to be healthier not worse. Sometimes, I wonder how I think I can do this but still keep going on with the journey though. Now its ME! I'm anxious and scared!! LOL SO glad you are doing well Vicki!! I just started my pre op diet and have 12 days left. I feel like I'm dying.. terrible. I wasn't prepared for how bad I am feeling. I sure hope I do as well as you are doing! God Bless!

I feel like I'm going to die of mal nutrition before I get to surgery! I seriously don't feel like I'm getting the things I need. I'm beginning to be an emotional wreck just two days in.

LOL!! I right there with y'all! I'm very irritated right now. Mine is ALL liquid for 14 days. I'm scared too that if I don't do everything by the book, they will open me up and find my liver didn't shrink.... but this is SOOOOOOO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having surgery in 12 days and I'm concerned about this also. Is is just hard to sip and get the Fluid you need? Does if hurt? Or can you not drink at all? Just curious. I see this alot on the boards. I don't want to do something to myself that is going to make me MORE unhealthy! Ugghhhh... Here I am doubting my decision again! I hate it. Sorry, I was venting. I really hope you feel better soon. Hopefully, you will be able to get more in. I know I was told that I would not be albe to go to mushies until 3 weeks after surgery.

I'm a little confused about this. My surgeon requires that we take vitamins after surgery for life with the sleeve. I thought that there wasn't a malabsorption issue with the sleeve only the gastric bypass. Does everyone's surgeon require this?? Weigh in post sleevers!!

This pre op diet is crazy!!! UGGGHHHH I really hate it. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words!! I love you guys. Thanks for the compliment about being young. I'm not so young. This pic was taken last summer but I'm no spring chicken. I like pretending that I am though! lol...

Thank you Joni! Yes, this pre op diet is awful. I'm just on my second day and I have a headache from a hades!! I'm so tired too. Sure it is from the caffein withdrawals. I was a coffee drinker. I miss it so much.. Thanks again for the encouraging words!

My surgeon does a leak test the day after surgery before releasing you to go home. I'm concerned though that he doesn't put in a drain. So seems most patients have no "say" about there own bodies. It's frustrating.

I hope you find out what is wrong. It's been awhile since your surgery. You would think you had passed the danger zone. Sorry you are having trouble. Seems I read alot about complications lately. Let us know how you are and hope you feel better soon!!

Well, I blogged last week about my chest x ray showing something abnormal. Had a CT scan on Friday and results came in this morning, NORMAL! I'm so happy. Thanks to everyone that sent prayers and encouragment. I really appreciate you guys so much! I started my pre-op diet today. It hasn't been easy so far. I have fourteen days of 4 shakes a day which are chalky and I don't like them very much, SF jello, SF popsicles, broth, and diluted fruit juice for blood sugar levels. I have a slight headache from caffein and sugar withdrawals. I'm really scared still and I can't believe that I actually am going through with this!! I've read some terrible horror stories about people with leaks and strictures. I read a story yesterday about a lady who has a leak that was in the hospital 5 times for a total of 65 days in the hospital. Oh my goodness!! I'm trying to have faith and rely on GOD like I should. I'm just so concerned because I'm self pay and if I have complications, how in the world would I pay for it?? I have insurance but since the surgery is excluded, I'm sure the complications are. I would be bankrupt if something happened. I need to just think positive and have faith. I'm looking forward to my new life which began today!! YAY!

I'm confused. I thought losing weight would help diabetes. Type 2, I mean. I'm a borderline diabetic and this is one reason I'm having surgery. I hope it doesn't make it go up more. I'm not on any medications right now. Just seems strange to me.

Congratulations! Did you BP spike in the hospital? Are you currently on BP meds? Just curious because I am also. I just hope they take care of things the way they should.

If you are liable for the surgery, it would not be 65,000.00. It would only be the allowable amount the insurance paid. So, if they only paid 8,400.00 to the Dr. that is what you would have to pay them. I am a medical biller and I know this for a fact. You would not be liable for 65,000. Also, you may want to look up the Insurance Commissioner for your state and write to him. I had to fight a denial of a personal claim for my daughter when she was a baby and I wrote to him and explained the situation and I won! The insurance company didn't what to pay stating that her condition was pre existing. Good luck to you. Try to calm down and know that it won't be that much. If you do have to pay for it, the hospital and Dr's office will have to try and arrange a payment plan for you. God Bless!

WOW... so good to hear everyone is doing so well! Gives me more hope when I have mine. Just a few more hurdles to jump over and if all goes well, my surgery is 21st!

I won't wait for my Dr. to get the results, I will get the results myself on Monday. Dr's take too long. I will let everyone know. Thanks again.
