So now that my H Pylori is cleared and its time to submit today, NOW the admin person that submits the paperwork calls and tells me that I might not get approved because my insurance is a difficult insurance and I have no comorbidities . Mind you this is month six, my clearance letter with all my stats was handed to her since the 5th of this month. Keep in mind I am 150lbs heavier than my ideal weight. She had at least two in a half weeks to look at my file and see if I did or didnt and if that would matter. Keep in mind I qualified according to the documentation they gave me six months ago. There was nothing indicating anything else. So if I was 500 lbs with no comorbiditiies I still might not be able to get approved?! WTW?! So I called her back and told her/reminded her that I am prediabetic so she will add that in. I mean seriously?!

I would have preferred knowing at the beginning so I would be prepared. I also would have did things different, perhaps have my doctor enter additional stuff on my clearance in BOLD. Oh well glad it didnt take to long. What did you have to do to win your case?

No I have not called my insurance because the reps don't know anything. The last time I spoke to them, they told me it is covered if medically necessary and said the doctor will explain to me the requirements. I will see if I can get it in writing and mailed to me. There is nothing more I can do at this point. I might call tomorrow to see if I need to get something else from my doctor in writing, but I have followed all that was required to a t.

If thats the case I'll tell her my whole body is hurting if I have too. Ugh.

She rushed me off the phone. She asked if I had breathing problems, I said yes. Shh*t... I'm fat. I told her about my pre-diabeties. So she said she would add that in. I mean its like a week from my scheduled surgery and its now shes asking me this. OR seeing this? Im sure she can make it look nice to get some approval I mean damn. I told her that I can't walk as far compared to my former skinny self, so lets see. She rushed me off the phone the second time we spoke so I think she knows what do, or was eager to go home (it was near 4 pm.) I have no clue what my cholesterol is, I just took all my tests and she should see everything in her face if she is doing her job right, but based on everything now. I am uncertain of that.

Well really its five pounds in eight days but would prefer to lose it by friday. My official liquid diet starts friday, but I started a partial liquid diet today. For those who did three day liquid diets how much did you lose?

The only reason I am considering doing it sooner than later because of my current size. I read somewhere that once your boobies are a certain size insurance approval might be easier. However I am going to find out if thats the case because if not I will probably wait. Not sure though.

Any pre ops having their surgery this month or in August?

Before I go in, has anyone ever gotten results for something over the phone? I am usually told to come in for results because its against HIPPA* policy, okay I get that, but yet in the past I have either gotten a letter and at least one time been told over the phone. Anywho.. My surgeons assistant was suppose to call me today to let me know if my H Pylori was cleared or not. She reassured me that she would, but I decided to call and see since I hadnt heard. Well, she left for the day the time I called (earlier than her normal leave time.) My surgery is scheduled for the 30th. My PCP new of my H pylori since June, but didnt give me anything to treat it. She made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. She only decided to treat it after I questioned her to make sure everything was right on my 6th and final visit with her earlier this month. Honestly, I think she went to ask someone if it should be treated (she's a resident.) So I give the paper work to my surgeons administrative assistant on the 5th. She calls me days later to tell me that with the positive H pylori she cant put in my paperwork and I have to wait until I took the meds, retest and come back with a negative H.Pylori result. I sent in the sample earlier this week. I called the lab today, the results are there but they wont disclose to me, so I have to wait until Monday or have to go in. So I'm steamed because if I have to push my surgery back, not only will I have to wait until winter session to return to school, but the plans I had for the upcoming week are in limbo which includes my liquid diet (to lose 5 lbs my surgeon NOW tells me I should lose,) and travel plans. Nothing I can do really, but it does suck when you're patient with staff at the hospital and you wait, but realize in cases like this you have to take life by the balls. If it wasn't for the surgeon I would be having surgery at a different hospital.

Yep... Im going to call them on Monday but still get ready to go if I dont hear from them or dont reach them. Ridiculousness I tell ya.

How tiny are your friends?? If you lose their weight (I'm guessing 130-140) You wont still be overweight.

I bought some nectar by syntax samples the other day. My surgery is on the 30th too (if all goes well, long story.)

Is it similar to the sound the tummy makes when hungry or have gas? Is the sound coming from near the tummy or the throat? Do other WLS cause this?

So this mostly happens when full or near full?

Oh okay. Thanks everyone. I will stick with the fourteen packs, and make chicken stock. Do you know if I can make it in advance and freeze it? I would think so. I don't want to have to be tempted to eat the chicken so I want to make them a few days prior to surgery.

I already know what my doctors requires protein wise, I just was asking a question about chicken broth. I'll ask in the food section.

So is that 2-3 bottles daily?

Speaking of soup.. I was wondering, if I boiled chicken, to make soup, would some of the protein be in the water? Instead of buying unjury? I still think I'm going to buy a few just to try it. Does it REALLY taste like chicken broth?
