Sleeve Research
Greetings, We are graduate students from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and we are conducting a research study concerning the perceived psychological and physiological changes after the vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery (VGS). If you have had the VGS surgery, are at least 18 years old, and are interested in sharing your experiences with us, please fill out this short online survey. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to fill out and is completely anonymous. We will not ask you for any identifiable personal information such as name, phone number, etc. You may decline to answer any of the questions and may stop your participation at any time. Your responses will be saved electronically in a third-party server. Since the survey is anonymous, there is no way we can identify your responses. We will only perform statistical analysis on aggregate data. If you have any questions before, during or after filling out the survey, please feel free to contact us at vsgresearch@gmail.com. Below is a URL hyperlink to the survey. By following it, you acknowledge that you have had the vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery. What About Personal Safety While In Mexico... Not So Safe There In General Now...
I went alone to Mexico and always felt perfectly safe. My coordinator took me everywhere I wanted to go, even the ocean. I loved my experience!

Warranties So To Speak..
I had mine with Dr Ponce, I asked him that before my surgery. He said if something happened while I was there he would take care of it. If I went home and had to come back I might need to pay for my ticket and maybe some hospital fees but otherwise nothing. I am over a month post op and thank God nothing happened! I am doing wonderfully. I have heard great things about Dr Alvarez but I also wanted to save the extra money and honestly Dr. Ponce is super experienced. Even if I had to go back it would had cost me less than the extra 3000. Dr ponce is only 5500. Good luck on your search!

Trying Not To Worry (Small Complication)
Hang in there you are in good hands! Dr Ponce will take good care of you! Praying for you

Dr. Ponce De Leon
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ponce and his staff. I did a lot of research before choosing him and I am glad I did! I have my journey including surgery on YouTube if you want to watch it, it might help you seeing him in action. My coordinator was Trish and she was wonderful also. If you go with him you won't regret it, people I talked to there said he is the best in Tijuana!

Headed To Tj 7/4/12
I did not have revision nor surgery with Dr. Kelly but I did travelled alone. My surgeon was Dr Ponce and my coordinator Trish. I decided to go alone because one it was cheaper and two I figured I rather my husband take time off when I got home, there I would have nurses in the hospital and the hotel Trish and my sleeve sister and husband always were around. I did miss having my family but honesty if I was to go again I would do it the same way. I talked to my daughter and husband daily on Skype they got to see me that way and I got to see them too. There was no problems crossing the border or anything else. I have. Y whole journey on video on YouTube if you are interested in seeing the border, hotel and even surgery. I understand your fears, specially being a single mother, I was a single mother for over 10 years. Do whatever you think will be best for you and your family, make sure you do a lot of research on the procedure and the surgeon and the fear will minimize with time. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions!

Just Wondering About Tijuana...
I had surgery with Dr Ponce I asked the driver to take me by a wells fargo ATM, she did and I got dollars there. I definetly agree with Shannon take small bills the ATM game me all $20s and that was hard for tipping.

Please Hold My Hand..
I had my surgery may 10th with Dr. Ponce De Leon in Mexico. My whole cost flight and everything included was $6000 he has a lot of experience, more than most USA Doctors and even Mexican ones. I hope you get the loan you need, but keep in mind that if they don't give it to you finding another $2000 is better than $10000. My pcp does my blood testing and check ups, but I have not had any complications. My full journey is on YouTube including my surgery from inside and out if you are interested in watching it. Good luck!
