    Just Curious...?

I started At 244lb and I'm 5'0 .. was wearing 22 plus.. I am now down to 206 and wear a size 16 and shopping in normal stores!!! :) I am 11 weeks post op and feelin fab!
  2. bc I am finally able to cross my legs!!!
  3. congrats! I had an excellent recovery process... I'm only 9 days post op and have felt amazing since day 1. I have had no pain and no problems keeping anything down. it has been the best decision of my life. I am 28 and my only regret is not doing it sooner! I wanted to do it now while I was young, only 100lb overweight, no health problems like high blood pressure or diabetes. I didn't wanna have to do in my 40s when I had all these problems. bc they all run in my family. I am down 24.2 from may 2... start of my liquid dust and 12lb from surgery day! it's crazy! I also went to two different seminars. I've been reading message boards and watching YouTube and have gained a ton of knowledge. luckily for me.. I didn't have to wait a long time... my insurance didn't require it. my initial dr appt was march 15 and I was sleeved may 16. I was on top of all my preop appts! honestly for me the hardest part was not being able to have any liquids day of surgery and also the barium for the X-ray. the only time I had to vomit was from that stuff :/ good luck and you'll do great

  7. I'm sorry you've had such a horrible first few days. I was sleeved may 16 and have been feeling great since the day of surgery. ive been out and about all weekend long... I feel so blessed that I had it so easy. no pain at all, the only time I vomited was from that stupid barium stuff :/ yuck!!!!! the only thing I'm annoyed with now is having to sleep on my back.. my butts killin me! I'm a stomach and side sleeper
  8. I told my close friends and family. obviously 6 months down the road everyone will start thinkin something and I'll be honest but for now... I don't need anyone's opinions.. thankfully I did have to get my gallbladder out.. so the people from work just think I'm having gallbladder surgery

    Endoscopy Tomorrow...

it was a breeze. i remember them wheeling me in.. and next thing I know I was waking up with my dad in the room.. I asked him how long he was in the room waiting for me to wake up.. and he said that I was up and talking to him when he walked in.. which i totally don't rememeber! they said my throat may be sore but I didn't feel any pain. I felt fine and could have definately worked but they said not to bc you were under sedation. my doctor did prescribe me a patch for nausea that I put behind my ear the night before.
  14. Does anybody else have Blue Cross Anthem out of CT?? I was given a paper today at my consult about my insurance. On the top of the papers it read Highmark Medical Policy. the nutrition and exercise programs must total 6 visits or more during a period of six consecutive months is Highermark Medical Policy the same as Blue Cross Anthem? I know there are lot of different Blue Cross' out there. Thanks
  15. Yep! We just celebrated 5 years in Oct. We are Pennsyvlanias first casino! The Mohgean in PA is probably a 1/4 of the size of its mother ship! we are tiny! I am a table game dealer there.. We just got the tables in July 2010.
  16. sooo great news! i went to my first appointment today. Everything went great and Dr. Gerhart seems amazing. so looking forward to this. I'm going for my first appointment on Monday March 19 for a Gallbladder ultrasound. I am required to join a gym.. The local Wilkes Barre YMCA has a special $99 for 3 months for bariatric patients. At my appointment today the scheduler called both the Psychologist and the Dietician.. just waiting on both of them to call me back. I have to get the Gastroscopy (EGD) done on April 3. Routine bloodwwork a week before that. After that it should lead me back to my 6 week follow up with Dr. Gerhart. He said I could have it done by 8 weeks.. but of course there is a setback. my insurance company requires nutrition and exercise program must total 6 visits or more in 6 conseceutive months (( Sooo i guess i'm looking at a Sept surgery date. Does anybody else have Blue Cross Anthem out of CT?? the paper they printed out for me today at the office says Higher Mark Policy on the top of the paper.. it doesnt say Anthem anywhere on it.. could this be different?! I know there are many different parts of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. side note: I've been battleing strep throat since Sunday.. only good thing is i'm down 8lbs! on my way to my consult today.. dad goes.. sarah maybe you won't need this surgery now? trying to make light of the situation! thank god for supportive parents, family and friends!
  17. I am actually in Pennsylvnia. But my emoloyer is based out of CT. I work at Mohegan Sun Casino in PA. all the confusion is cleared up! she had the Blue Cross Highmark Medical Policy instead of the Blue Cross Anthem Policy. she was told they were the same thing.

    I'm New! :)

i just researched that protein.. everyone raved about it the walmart reviews! i checked out the other nutritonal information.. looks good.. my paperwork says to limit the fat & sugar to 5g or less per serving. The fortress is 26g protein, 2g of fat & 2g of sugar for 1 scoop 52g protein, 4g of fat & 4.5g of sugar for 2 scoops .
  20. great news!!! they did make a mistake. I do not have to wait 6 months! looking at May for surgery!!!!!

    I'm New! :)

I think the information she had given me about the 6 months of exercise evaluation was wrong! i found this link online: http://www.anthem.com/medicalpolicies/anthem/va/policies/mp_pw_a053317.htm I have to meet $250 in deductables and could pay up to $2000 out of pocket. :/ I'm so excited and looking forward to this. I heard the Lean shakes from GNC are good http://tinyurl.com/6o39l6d .. and they recommded them at my dr's office. Also she gave me a sample of a clear Protein drink called Natures Best Isopure Zero Carb (has to be zero carb ones!!!) http://tinyurl.com/7vy5nd2 i haven't tried it yet.. but she said it was really good. I absolutely LOVE Peanut Butter.. what brand?! did you mix it with Water?
  22. i think she made a mistake and printed out the wrong insurnace info for me!!! im prayin it is! I found this link online that says: Anthem Medical Policy http://www.anthem.com/medicalpolicies/anthem/va/policies/mp_pw_a053317.htm
