    Spanx

I love the tank type shapers also , they help with my back pain too . I tried the genie bra cami and it wasn't very good. The genie bra is comfortable though. Just not the tank

GOOD fast food choices ?! :)

I like to keep some of the jif to go with me and a few wheat crackers, and if I have to eat fast food I ask formal plain grilled chicken sandwich minus the bun or I take off the bun myself and i try to drink iced tea or water...I know I'm not supposed to drink with meals but this is a lifelong habit that I am trying to break !!!! I like Wendy's chili as well just get the small one, and McDonalds will give you just the grilled chicken from the wrap at a discounted price if you ask them We travel every weekend almost as hubby works out of town, so I am still learning, harder however refused to discount without the bread soninpaid regular price and threw away the bread or fed it to birds if their were any around

I need help getting back on track

I completely understand ! I have been the victim of grazing and sipping beverages that I shouldn't be. I like to food tracker app on my phone because it allows me to see my intake and protein intake. I have found a company called bariatric choice, they sale high protein snack food...I haven't purchased anything from them yet because it's expensive and my budget is tight, but they have some great options tht sound pretty good. And I have Earned that the more water I drink the less I eat and when I just have to have that crunch I eat celery with peanut butter or carrots and cucumber with some light dressing

    Lake Norman

You will really like Dr. Heider and his staff, they are always ready and willing to help you in anyway they can. I filed on insurance , and went to my first appointment the first week of February and had my surgery June 21 ..it could have been quicker if I had scheduled appointments sooner . However from what i understand self pay is much quicker because you don't have the protocols of the insurance company the support group offered me the best information and advice and the other patients are always willing to answer your questions ..just ask , the workshop that you attend befor surgery gives you very useful information. The hospital staff is wonderful too, envy one in the office treated me as ifI were the most important person, they seem to respect their patients and don't treat them as a number but a person ...

    1St Meal In Restaurant

Thanks everyone, your suggestions have helped me feel more comfortable, and excited about dinner tonight,I am focusing on the postive things ,like meeting new people and getting to know more people that work with my hubby...either way if its a great step ahead or a total bomb ( which I doubt) it will be just another day good or bad....Thanks for all of your perspectives...hubby says I worry too much about what others think and even though I know he's right it's a hard habit to break

    1St Meal In Restaurant

I have wondered since surgery how I would respond if someone mentioned my lack of appetite, and I have decided that I will be honest and just tell them that I've had the surgery and my stomach is small. After all I wouldn't have known abot the success of surgery if my sister in law wasn't so open about her gastric bypass. So maybe someone else will benefit from my experience too, and you know what even if they don't I have benefited in many ways !!!!

    1St Meal In Restaurant

Thank you so much, you are right and the suggestions are great, I am gonna try to see this as a new adventure and a new part of my life. I will concentrate on the conversation and not the food. I do mindlessy eat sometimes when I go out, or I used to that it..now maybe I will learn to pay more attention to my surroundings like artwork and things other than food. My husband is completely on my side and my number one cheerleader through this new life . I am sure they will have a chicken dish, I can order or another good protein choice. I was thinking maybe a soup or an appetizer as a main course , but I liek your suggestion better and I will enjoy the meal twice with the leftovers.

    Should I Be Hungry?

I was sleeved on june 21st this year, and I still don't feel that hunger feeling. I do however have ''head hunger''and have realized that it's just me lettin go of my old relationship with food.
  11. I am a complete nervous wreck,, Tomorrow my husbdand and I are going out to dinner with two of his co-workers and their wives, neither of which I have met before, PLUS this will be my first time eating out in a restaurant since I was sleeved (6/21/12). I asked my hubby to find out about the restaurant so I could research their menu but he said it's an Italian place grrrrrr---that means almost every menu item will most likely include Pasta and of course the bread that they probably will place on the table. So i am scared of eating out plus eating in fron tof others. What if I overeat -which I have a tendency to do-and get sick thats gonna be embarrassing, and what if they notice my eating habits and think odd of me. I have gotten amazing support from you guys opn here and was wondering how some of you have handled a situation like this
  12. I was sleeved June 21 and I haven had any issues with dumping or heartburn. I did have some vomiting but mostly it was my own fault, like trying to advance too fast or I didn't eat slowly enough. I do miss gulping my water when I'm thirsty, most I have to make sure to sip my water often to prevent the thirsty feeling. Getting in enough protein is tough for me right now, but imagine the RNY would be more difficult to get the benefits of protein also.
  13. I have Cigna too and my approval only took 6 days after submitting paperwork...I had BMI 39, and high BP, diabetes, high cholesterol and degenerative disk disease in my back. I had to use opti- fast liquid diet pre- op though and lose 9 lbs.... Cucumbers and celery a negative calorie foods, somewhen you need to crunch something try those ..it helped me through some weak moments when my willpower wasn't as strong as my stomach. A tbsp of peanut better on the celery is a good protein snack too. I found a book on amazon before and after bariatric surgery that has some yummy protein smoothie recipes too.
