I felt the same way you did this Christmas, usually on the holidays I'd be taking an inventory of what foods I have first to what deserts I was having last, this year I wasn't even thinking about it though I had a little chocolate mousse and a bit of pumpking pie each bite was less than a tablespoons each I was able to enjoy it but not fee guilty for eating loads of it.. Life is definately good post sleeved!!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!!

Our family dinner isn't till Saturday, so I'm nervous about how that will go. But my wife and I had our traditional eggs Benedict brunch. I had 1 instead of 5.

hey there partofme! i'm 16 days post-op; I had a little (maybe 1/8 cup) of broc/cheese Soup (that I blended in my new XMAS blender LOL). About an hour and a half later I had about a 4th of a bottle of Isopure Grape Frost. So hearing that next year I'll be able to have a few bites of actual dinner makes me happy I think it's really great that all of you are so aware of not only what you are eating, but are able to stop when that full feeling hits. Starting with the Protein is great too because i know in the past if there was rice/pasta/potatoes on the table they were my MAIN focus! Happy New Year to Everyone!!

I'm 7 months out and I enjoyed it. I loved that I ate slowly and engaged in conversation. Sad to say but before surgery food was my main priority at the table. I also felt fine after eatting. I didn't feel sluggish or in a food coma.
    I absolutely loved my meal

I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow. My boyfriend's family does their Christmas on Christmas eve so I had 2 days of holiday meals. Christmas Eve I had 3 one inch cubes of cheese, 2 slices of pepperoni & 2 crackers. Two hours later at dinner I had 2 tbsp. of squash, 2 tbsp. of green Beans & 2 bites of filet mignon. On Christmas Day for breakfast I had 2 pieces of bacon and about 1/4 of a cup of an egg & cheese casserole. I didn't have anything until dinner time. Then at dinner I had 2 bites each of stuffing, mashed potato and green bean casserole along with about 1/2 a small slice of turkey with gravy. Three hours later I had a sliver of chocolate cream pie. It is really amazing. What is a usually a 2 day food extravaganza for me was reduced to a about 2 small salad plates of food. Part of me was sad at first. Especially when it came to the filet mignon. I can usually eat two huge pieces of it, but this year after 2 bites my stomach started to hurt. It was my first time eating beef since surgery. Looking back today, though, it was such a better holiday. I had so much more interaction with family and friends. I wasn't obsessing about food the whole time. I wasn't in a lethargic food coma & this is the first holiday where I haven't gained weight.

I know there are a lot of new and soon-to-be sleevers out there and many are wondering if they are ever going to be able to enjoy a Christmas dinner like days gone by. I know it was a concern of mine. So, I though I would post about it.
I am nearly 19 months post sleeve.
Yesterday, I made a turkey with stuffing ... gravy, mashed potatoes, green Beans ... you know the drill. I had about 4 bites of turky (first) then about 4 green beans, 2 bites of stuffing and 2 bites of potatoes. Gravy slathered across everything. I put it on a salad plate and it was about half full. I was one of the last ones to finish eating (guy across from me had 3 platefulls) and I was stuffed. Had ice cream and peanut brittle and a sliver of apple pie about an hour later.
I ate about one fourth of the meal I would have had 2 years ago and didn't attack the refridgerator 4 hours later like I used to do. Didn't even think about it, to be honest with you. Crazy, huh? THAT'S a new behavior.
Oh, I almost forgot ... Breakfast ... I made French toast, sausage and bacon and a double batch of carmel sticky Buns. I ate a sausage and some bacon and half a sticky bun with butter. I sent half the sticky buns over to my sisters home, a quarter of the batch to a neighbors home and the rest to my in-laws (Merry Christmas!) I did keep one big one for the kids for today (I'm sure I'll have a bite), but I am better off having those kinds of things out of the house.
It was a great Christmas and no food hangover. I love being sleeved and how it helps me to be accountable for what I put into my mouth.

Thanks for the post, I also needed it! I basically lose about 2lbs a week since the first month of surgery which I was hoping for some big miraculous change in weight, I can't complain cause I get a little miracle every week.

I did the same thing when I was free to eat what I wanted. I'm a sugar addict and I had a few things I shouldn't have had but I had this surgery so I wouldn't have to give up too much just as long as I didn't eat a lot of it. I'm losing the weight (albeit slowly) but I am getting there.
    Much success on your Journey!!

Hello Everyone, I just found this app today and I'm super excited to be able to read the different journeys u guys have to share. I'm 32 yrs old and work as an Ops Manager at a mortage co...married with 4 beautiful little ladies. I'm 5'2 with a BMI of 69.9....no I didn't make a

typo, 69.9 is correct. I was always told I had a pretty face which wasn't a compliment in my book. As the years went by I didnt want to do anything outside of work....I missed school activities and family gatherings so after this year's family vacation and having to rent a mobile machine to ride through Sea World I knew I had to do something fast or I would continue to get bigger and eventually die. In order to reach my goal weight I'll have to lose around 220 lbs. My surgery date is scheduled for 9.10.12, so pls keep me in your prayers and I'll keep u guys posted on my progress. Thx

Willow216 got a reaction from TheRealMeIsHere! in Question: Inches Vs Pounds
    Hi Everyone,
This might be a dumb question but I have to ask since this has been bothering me all day.
I haven't fit into a sze 12 jeans (Levis) since I was around 160lbs (back in 1998), but, I noticed that all of the sze 14's I was wearing were getting baggy and I just took a leap of faith and put on a sze brand new sze 12 Levis and they FIT . I don't understand, I am 194lbs as of this morning how can I fit in sze 12s when at 160lbs I could barely squeeze into them. Believe me, I am not complaining I am just wondering, I was a sze 18 for the longest time, did the jean sizes change or something? I always wore Levis jeans (Stretch) so its not like different brands of jeans that the szes and fit are different from one brand to another and I always wore Levis Stretch.
Is this happening with anyone else or is it that we really do lose inches before the poundage.
I appreciate any info anyone can give.
    Thanks Guys!

One package sf instant pudding cheesecake flavor
One can pineapple chunks (cut them up)
Thaw cool whip and put in mixing bowl. Pour pudding mix over coolwhip and mix gently but thoroughly. Next add cut up pineapple and gently mix. Divide into single serve containers and refrigerate atleast 1 hour. YUM!!!

Thanks Everybody for the responses! You all are GREAT! I guess I just have to learn to just appreciate my situation as it is. And to respond to ASHERJE. I thought about what you said about adjusting the Jeans sizes so today I am wearing a pair of old jeans sze 12 Levis that I had since 1997 and they are fitting snug but they are on and I wore these when I was 160 so its not size adjustment in this case.
Thank yous Guys!! I totally LOVE my VSG people!!

Thanks for responding, you have no idea how this is freaking me out..LOL I didn't think I would get into this sze for at least another 30lbs and here I am strutting my stuff all over work in my brand new sze 12s and feeling guilty cause I am still 194lbs and I know I shouldn't be wearing these yet. I guess I am just going to have to be thankful and go with it. Its just weird that inches go first before the lbs, but where are the lbs hanging out once the inches are gone.

I've noticed that back 9yrs ago I got to a size 14 jean from Express... 3 yrs ago I got down to 149lbs (did last but 6mo & I was back to 190, I still have lap band, waiting for a revision currently lol) at one point I was wearing at size 10 from (got down as small as a 6/8) but the 14's didn't fit me till I could squeeze into a 10. So looks like because Americans have gotten bigger they have adjusted the sizes with some companies so what we now call a 14 would have been a 16 or 18 few years ago lol. Gotta love it.
Currently back around 180lbs and wear a 12 some day, 14 the next, 17 if I shop at target lol
