The Right Choice...
Same here. I have dangerously low vitamin D, B12, and iron levels. I also found out that I am pre-diabetic. . This just solidified my decision to have this surgery done. Now I have to jump through just a few more hoops before I can submit to insurance.

Meeting With Surgeon - What To Expect
I just met with the surgeon and there were more tests ordered, as follow-ups. I have to do the sleep study, repeat one of the labs, see a pulmonologist, and then have the endonoscopy. After all of that, they will submit to the insurance company. During the meeting with the surgeon he went over all my labs, checked my old c-section scar, showed me where the insicions will be. We discussed how much weight I would possibly loose with diet and exercise. His nurse practicioner also did a work-up which included a rectal exam.

I Just Bought Dr Alvarez's Book!
It was a very quick read and gave me a lot of questions to ask when I met with my surgeon.

Catch-22, Literally
I was told that the weight that counted for insurance was the weight they recorded during my intake. Hopefully you won't be penalized for being successful in loosing pre-op.

In The Middle Of My 101 Dr Appts
Well I thought I had completed my 101 appointments only to have 57 more added after the labs came back. :sigh: But trudge on we must in order to join everyone on the losers bench.

My Head Is Spinning
Just had my appt with the surgeon, NUT, and psych and now there are more tests. Ugh! Psych cleared me. Yay! NUT was just information. But evidently I now need a sleep study, an appt with the pulmonologist, a repeat lab, and an endonoscopy (sp). I know that all of these appts will help me have a successful surgery, but I wish I could have been working on getting them all in during the last month. :sigh: And to top it all off I found out today that I am pre-diabetic. This surgery can't come fast enough for me.

Psychology Exam, Wtf?
Mine was maybe 15/20 minutes. Copay of $20. Immediate clearance with no test. She works at the center where I'm having my surgery done.

- Did You Quit Coffee? If So, How?
When I was pregnant I quit coffee cold turkey and my OB said to try chocolate milk. It allowed me to ease off the coffee and within a couple of days I didn't need the chocolate milk either. I started drinking coffee again after my daughter was weaned from the breast and am no longer "addicted" to it. I have a cup when I want to, but don't drink it daily so as not to develop that dependence again.- Onederland Yay!
