  1. Protien shakes In the cooler with some chicken salad? Hope it is fun!
  2. Usually pregnancy symptoms Don't hit till one or Two weeks after missed period. So even if you have no symptoms, don't worry you could be pregnant. Best wishes!
  3. I walked once around the block right before I took my pain medicine so every four Hours. The first two days were rough for me. Hang in there, keep walking. The gas x did nothing for me...
  4. Awesome awesome awesome! I am newly banded and love to hear that! Way to go!
  5. Wow! You are super pretty and hot if it isn't weird for another girl to say so! Great work girl! Great job to everyone else too! You all look amazing!
  6. Weird but I am tempted to Try it
  7. Im only one week out but Have noticed the same. I used to salt everything and loved salty food and now everything seems too salty and I am sensitive to the taste of everything.
  8. This is the best thread! I needed it so much!
  9. I had shingles as a child (it is a cousin of chicken pox but it follows nerve patterns and feels like you are on fire). Stress or trauma causes possible relapse. Seven days post opt and I get to have a shingles outbreak! I am so tired and frustrated that I get to deal with recovery and now a painful nerve virus. Just had to vent! Thanks for listening......
  10. I am 8 days out and sooooo tired. Dr said I would be able to go to work and feel fine. It is all I can do to make it half day!
  11. My nutrient it's said I should be able to fit my whole meal on my hand or a small side plate. Most of it should be protien then veggie with 10% carb.
  12. Best luck this week! Be prepared for a hard few days but as bad as you may feel, it leaves just as quickly. I made myself walk alot even if I hurt or was tired which I think helped eliviate the bad gas pain. Be careful to continue sipping water everytime you are awake. You wont be awake much the first day or two and it is hard to get water and fluids in while awake so it takes effort. I hope you will feel like I do as well. Best of wishes on your journey too. I had a good friend banded on the same day as me. We messaged on our phones all day each day after to see how we were each feeling. It was a huge help. I would tell anyone to find a same day buddy and exchange phone numbers so you can text each other. It is nice to have someone else who is sharing the expirence b/c your family wont know how you feel.
  13. My surgeon said he puts a small fill in everyone at surgery and our first fill is set for 3 weeks post opt to avoid bandster hell. I am truely hopefull the feeling does not go away but at least I know what I will be seeking to get back to (green zone) if it does go away! Thanks for responding.
  14. Jean, I wanted to buy a copy of your book and could not find it on-line. Where may I get a copy? I love all of your advice.
  15. My patient advocate at my Dr office told me that when he had the surgery he decided he was done with dieting. He was just going to eat small amounts and follow the rules. He said there is no meal off limits (unless it gets stuck), he just eats small abouts that fit into the rules and makes the majority of all his meals healthy. If he slowed in weight loss he made adjustments. I would not look at it as a cheat. Just adjust and move on. I tend to follow his advice. I dont want to diet anymore, I just want to eat way less and make healthier choices. I am tired of the mental game I have played my whole life.
  16. I am only 7 days out from surgery. I had my proceedure on 5/8/12. Since that moment, I have not wanted to eat or drink a single thing. I only remember to eat when I get shakey and weak. I havent thought about food at all. I get full quick and have no trouble stopping at 1/2 a cup of food or less. I am not hungry for 5 - 6 hours or more. I know it is highly likely my hunger will return in the next few weeks or days until I get a fill. However, I have always been very senitive to changes in my body or medicince. So maybe (glimmer of hope) that the band is already working for me! It is hard to get my protient and water in. But If this feeling leaves me, I will strive for it again with fills. It is like being un handcuffed from bonds of food. This is how skinny people must think! If this is how my journey is going to be, I could not be more happy that I got the band. My surgeon has everyone start on full liquids on week one. So I am able to drink protien shakes and have soups which are pureed. It is totally satisfying and enough. I get so full so easily. I lost 12 lbs in pre-opt and 6 since surgery (1 lb a day)! I am not unrealistic aht the feeling may go away till I have fills or I may stop losing or I may even gain. But for now, it is a nice reward after a hard proceedure. Thanks for listening
  17. Thanks for sharing. I see you are with True Results in Austin. I just had my surgery last Tuesday 5/8/12. Recovery was rough but I am at work today. I am happy I did it. The hospital was SUPER great to me and the whole process. I have had three other proceedures so I did not expect this to be hard at all but I was very suprised. However, you will be treated well at South Austin and by Dr Esqivil (even though you wont see him much). I lost 12 lbs in pre opt diet (which is just adkins for Dr. Esquivil) and I have lost 1 lb a day since surgery for a total of 18 pounds down already! Best of luck. Katy
  18. I got an app for my iphone called slow eater pro. You can set it for whatever time peroid you want for intervenals and it totals up your bites too. It dings or vibrates when you can have you next bite so you dont have to stare at a clock. It has helped me alot already. 20 minutes is a LONG time to eat. My husband has had two large servings and been done at about 5 minutes and I am still chipping away at my 1/2 cup. I do watch TV right now so I am not alone sitting at the table, stairing at a clock. But I wait till my phone dings before I take a bite.
  19. I cannot imagine that day for me, I am so glad you shared with us. What a wonderful thing to expirence! My day is coming too!
  20. THis is a great thing! I loved reading this. We all want our husbands to be proud of their wifes. My hubby always says he loves me and the way I look. But I know that when the weight comes off for me, I will feel better knowing he has the wife on the inside and out that he deserves. Good for you for having that clarity and being proud of where you are at now. You should "drop by" class one day and bring him lunch and show off that he has a awesome wife on the inside and out. Teenagers are so shallow
  21. Who was your dr? How are you doing? First fill yet?
  22. Austin! Banded tuesday by true results dr Esquivil. Hard recovery but feeling good.
