  1. I have read some of you have gad night coughs. What are they like ( productive or not productive) and what causes them?
  2. WOW!!!! I just realized I have surpassed my monthly goal!!!! My goal for Sept 29 was 172, I am 170.4!! YEAH ME!!!!!
  3. Down to 170.4! So Happy!!!!!!
  4. Has anyone ever been a very little too tight and gotten a 1/4 cc unfill and it be perfect? I went in for a fill a week ago and I feel I am a very little too tight. He put in 1/2 cc. I can eat and drink but have gotten stuck several times because of the learning curve of the new fill. But I am afraid of getting stuck constantly. My doctor said a 1/4 unfill would not make much difference. What do you guys think?
  5. I am having terrible pains on my upper right abdominal area just below my ribs. A friend of mine said it was possibly my gallbladder. Has anyone had gallbladder issues after having lapband? I was banded May 14, 2012 .
  6. My psych denied me for lap band, but Tricare still approved the procedure. Psych said I needed to work on my depression issues and possibly change my meds.......then I should rethink lapband. Well, since I have lost 50 lbs WITH the lapband my depression is slowly improving. Most of my depression was caused by my weight. I feel so much better about myself and the I look! I am not saying I am cured, but I am definitely getting better.
  7. I am printing it out as I type! So excited. I love them! Thank you for sharing.
  8. I used to have them all the time. I too went to the doctor and she told me it was from shaving with a dull razor. I started making sure I use a fairly new blade now when I shave and now I rarely get them.
  9. I saw on YouTube a lady who had the lapband had found very pretty medic alert bracelets that had beads on it. It looked like designer jewelry but with the alert tag. Very stylish!
  10. Had my 4th fill this morning and I am scared! After my last fill of 1cc I had to have a 1/2cc taken out 5 days later. I was too tight and miserable! Today I went in for my monthly surgeons visit and he suggested to try putting that 1/2cc back in. I was having restriction with the 5 1/2cc but not a lot. He stated the shift in the solution may make it OK. I just don't want to hurt again with being stuck! I did make adjustments to the amount I have had in my band for the last 3 weeks, so hopefully it will be OK. If not, guess I will be seeing my surgeon. (he is kinda sweet on the eyes)
  11. Checking in late, had a really mentally exhausting week! 177.4 lbs.

  13. So happy for you! Tricare is the most wonderful insurance out there. I have had them now as a retired military person for 7 years and have never had any issues. My banding only took 2 months from consultation to surgery! I love Tricare!
  14. Well......I had to go get an unfill. I gave it until Tues and still could not get anything down so I called my doctor and said to come in. My last fill was 1cc so he took out 1/2cc. As of now I am much better! I am able to get food down and I am feeling full for about 4-5 hours. I have gotten stuck quite a few times, but my own fault. I am at a happy point with my band! Maybe just maybe my "green zone"!!!!!!!
  15. Chubsy-my band date was May 14, 2012. I am 3 months post op, down 45 lbs and just had my 3rd fill. Now 6cc's in a 10cc band. I think this last fill made me too tight and may have to get a 1/2cc unfill to hit my "green zone". That being said everyone is different as to when they get to the "green zone" and every surgeon will be different as to how much they will fill you at each visit. don't be discouraged with your research on the band. When you talk to your surgeon about your concerns. I really like my results so far and would recommend the band to anyone. I wish you luck in whatever decision you make.
  16. Well, I had my 3rd fill yesterday. I am up to 6 cc's in a 10cc band. I felt a little restriction with my last fill, with this fill I already feel "A LOT" of restriction and I am on liquids only. I am happy with the fact I have restriction but I hope it is not too much. Maybe my stomach is just irritated a little and will settle down in a few days.
  17. My motivation is to look good! I know being over weight eventually would have effected my health but before my band my doctor always told me I was in really good shape even though I was 100lbs over weight. My blood pressure was always low, my blood sugar and cholesterol was perfect. So my bottom line for getting the band is ..... I want to look good and be confident doing it!
  18. Yeah!!!!! Good going!!!!! I am going for my 3rd fill on Thursday, I can't wait!
  19. All I can say is WOW!
