Debshops.com (DEB) has 50% off their clearances this week. I just came from the store. got a bunch of stuff for my surgery vacation after all...we will be going through sizes like crazy. I was thinking of this. On weight watchers they have a sharing page on their board i forget what its called but its like a trading thread. Like I say..." i have size 14's ...does anyone need them..." then you post and you say yes, i do! I need 14's and I have 16's for anyone that needs them!" I went to goodwill yesterday for the first time. I got a few post op things. I didn't have any bad dreams yet, thank goodness. I had one about the endoscopy the other night. Doc called to say everything was okay. I think its just your subconscious . Your secretly nervous and thats where its coming from. Make sure you trust your doctor and feel comfy. This is a huge change but it will be worth it. We're all here for you. GREAT ANALOGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!! I forgot my computer yesterday at my mom's so i'm just getting it back.. I'll catch up and post tonight -My update- Today is day 3 of the pre op diet. I feel wonderful. The pain that i've had in my side on and off for months is gone!!!! Has been since i started pre-preop. So far with the Prepreop I'm down 9.4 lbs. With just the liquid pre op i'm down 4 lbs some odd oz's I think. The funny thing is....My bf and i weighed in sunday night....we weighed exactly the same. We weighed in last night....EXACTLY THE SAME! and this morning.....yep you guessed it! THE SAME!!!! I even tested the scale to make sure it was okay!

Just wanted to say.....i love you!!! i love you all!!! I was planning on going to bed around 10 but started surfing the net (do people still say that??) and dreaming of all the cute outfits. I'm locked in here for the night so i wont go in the kitchen. My boss got chicfila for dinner and came home (i do home care) and said Jenn do you want a nugget...i gave her a dirty look and she said omg im so sorry! i laughed and said thats ok....your lucky the mood swings haven't hit me yet!!! lol so far so good....16 days seems like an eternity but as I always say...one day at a time. with that being said....I'm so proud of you all! Hey all. I started the preop diet today. So far so good. No headaches....no shiznits. I gave myself a schedule...every 2 hours. I strayed away a little and forgot my 415, that turned into 530 but whatever I feel great for not eating all day. And, you know what I realized? Since i started the pre-preop diet (meal replacement) I havent had the normal side pain that I always have. 1 day down, 15 to go.

I'm up 2 lbs today so im not too happy but i'm going to do my best for the next couple days til i start my pre op. I'd love to be down 5 lbs . Then it won't look like I gained so much. QOTD- What is your goal weight, and how did you pick this goal weight? -I started out in february at 260 when I sent in my paperwork. I thought it was 250 but i checked my paperwork last night and it said 260. I'm 5'5 but for some reason on my paper work i put 5'4...ANYHOW My weight right now is 274.0 as of this morning, I would like to be 269 when I start pre op Tuesday. My GOAL is 140. i always had 150 in my mind but i figure why not shoot for more, since this is a once in a life time opportunity. Of course my goal could change If im happy at 150 or even 160.....or maybe i'll want to go to 120, but for now....140 is my goal I always look at mybodygallery.com its a pretty cool site to see different body shapes and sizes. Welcome all new comers! I will add you tomorrow to the list I'm so stoked. I worked with my boyfriend today at a vitamin store in the new castle mart, in delaware. A lady next door at one of the stores was helping me look at scrubs and she said what size do you wear? I said actually I'm not sure what im looking for because im having weight loss surgery in 2 weeks! It felt so good to say that, and she was super excited for me. She begged me to come back in after the surgery and keep her updated! So, QOTD-----HOW MUCH TIME ARE YOU TAKING OFF FROM WORK? AND, IS ANYONE USING THE FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT (i'm trying to get info on it from work but the girl thats supposed to be helping me is dumb as dirt) . I'll be almost 2 weeks out when I go back, I'm only doing "half days" ...which is 6 or 7 hours to me. Then I'm taking an extra full week off from my other patient....So I'll be 3 weeks out when I go back full time . I hope this is enough. My friend was going to take just the 2 weeks off but she decided to take more than that. (a couple weeks more)

Are you due for your TOM? I had that a couple days ago and aunt flow just arrived (thank god , now i wont have it for surgery!!)....sometimes changing your diet can bring it on. It's probably just your body adjusting. Maybe try some tylonal (or whatever your doc advises), heating pad, hot bath?

What a successful thread if i do say so myself!! QOTD-How/When did you decide you wanted to have bariatric surgery? Why did you choose the sleeve? I was driving my mom to the airport one day in february and I was complaining that I was starting to gain back some of the weight I had lost on weight watchers. She said, Why don't you start looking into the lapband, you've struggled with your weight for so long, its time to just take care of it once and for all. SO, I did....but as i was researching the lapband I found the sleeve. I decided that the lapband wasn't for me. What if i had lost my insurance? Would I have to keep that thing in me forever? If i take it out would I gain back all the weight I had lost???? I need something that doesnt require maintence like that. So, Here I am! I found the sleeve and after doing my research I really love the idea of the sleeve!

So hard to say since everyones on a different diet. My shakes are very low in carbs, only 100 calories and no added sugar (muscle milk light) they gave me a list of ones to choose from and this is the one i chose. they are very good. im unofficially on pre op too. (pre pre op as i like to call it, i start tuesday) im just doing meal replacements...been on it since....last wednesday? I lost almost 6 lbs but aunt flow arrived today, which is great now i wont have it for surgery.....but i always gain during this time so hopefully i lose more before tuesday. Make sure the soups are low sodium as well so you don't retain the water weight . i hear banana's aren't good ...not for the beginning stages of post op either, i guess it is because of the carbs. I've been having a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch...2 sf jellos in between b & L and L&D and then having a light dinner....salad usually....although last night i went out to dinner and didn't stick to plan. Can't wait for post op!!!!!!!! Welcome and good luck I'll add you tomorrow!!!

If you don't see your name on the list please feel free to tell me!!! Well folks, we are getting close! It's 5 days til I start the pre op diet, and 2 weeks 6 days til surgery.....YES!!!! Less than 3 weeks!!!! Okay, so question of the day!!! My friend was going to have surgery. She ended up losing so much on pre op (33 lbs) (244-211) that she and the doctor decided she could probably get to goal herself. (plus the fact that she was terribly sick the entire time, and is allergic to the nausea patch) Anyway she didn't go through with it and now shes regretting it, a couple months later. They won't honor the price that was originally given to her. So she was considering Mexico.....heres where you guys come in....a lot of you are going to mexico....the one doctor she checked with ...after the financing would have been about 8700 cash then the financing 10% and a plane ticket to get to the west coast. I saw a lot of the sleeve prices at 4400 and such, what are the prices? does your doctor do financing? How much is your TOTAL cost??? AND, non mexico sleevers......are you insurance or self pay? I am self pay because my insurance (BCBS carefirst) wont cover it. Or DOESNT cover it. So I was lucky enough to catch a "promotion" of 8000 so they could get surgeries in to be a center of excellence. I'm traveling from new jersey to myrtle beach. its a 10 hour drive but i know it'll be worth it!!!!

I hope everything turns out okay for you....please keep us posted. Remember your health is the number one thing, if thats something you have to take care of first then you can get surgery...if need be. but hopefully its nothing and you can still be an august 10th sleever!!! We all hope so!! <3

shes...28 i think. give or take a year. I know shes right around my age and im 27.

That looks scary! My surgery is all inclusive so i dont think i have to get one of those things i come in for appts mon, and tues and weds is my appt.So, probably just the shot. Thanks for all the help. Not sure if shes an increased risk.. Why are they placing it so soon though, shes not due for surgery til aug 9th!

My friend is having surgery the day after me (aug 9). She said she went today to get her "filter" put in. I've never heard of this. she said its to prevent blood clots? She said "you'll probably get yours through a shot after your surgery " what is she talking about? what is a filter? i haven't heard about a filter yet. I thought i knew what was going on

Yea when i shook it up it was. then i put it in the freezer for a little while and it was fine. It kinda tastes like watered down crystal light?? do you think so too or am i not putting enough powder in? hard to tell how much to put in. i didn't wanna put too much in. lol a friend of mine said the same thing. she was on her 2 week liquid shake diet and she said " i'm about to eat my first born im so hungry" lol!!! I'm kinda starting early... today i haven't eaten anything. I want to see how much i lose today. I've been doing shakes and salads but yesterday i messed up. i dont start the actual pre op diet til next tuesday. It's not super hard but its 830 and im starting to get a bad headache. I'm still at work...im ready to go home and take tylonal and go to bed!!!!!!!!!!! good luck, we'lll all be on the diet around the same time so theres tons of support!

Hey all! Well i messed up a bit yesterday and ate probably more than i should. I was up .6 from my last weigh in check (7/15) so today i drank only shakes. and i had 2 SF jello's . I ordered banana protein (muscle milk light) and it came today....its really good. SO i have this in addition to my choc and vanilla...i also got the nectar samples. I tried the caribbean cooler ...its OKAY. not horrible...but not something i'd crave lol. So- QOTD- what protein powders have you tried, what will you use after surgery?

Sorry I went MIA for a couple days. My birthday was saturday. I went to atlantic city and didn't spend much time on the computer this weekend. Trying to get stuff ready for surgery. I packed my boyfriends suitcase last night. He's 100% packed and not allowed to take any clothes out of the suit case Mine, not so easy. Nurse says I should probably lose 20-30 lbs by surgery so i dont know what will fit and what wont. I had bought a couple outfits from walmart but ended up not liking them and taking them back. I guess i'll just wing it. God knows i always over pack anyway So Your all added on, if i missed anyone please let me know!!! QOTD- what diets have you tried before eventually deciding on the sleeve??? Did any of them work for you?? I've tried slimfast, atkins, weight watchers and juice fasting. I never lost anything with slim fast since i like cookies with my "chocolate milk" yep thats why im a big girl. Atkins i lost about 25 lbs in high school ( i was only about 210 then so i was happy with that) Weight watchers I lost 40 from may-october then did a juice fast for 2 weeks and lost another 14 ish. Gained all that back, obviously!

Weight lifting??? I've always wanted to be a runner, i feel so free when I run (or when i used to) I can't wait to run my first 5k I'm on day 2 of my pre preop diet. I will weigh in tomorrow morning and let you all know how its going so far. The shakes i'm drinking are muscle milk light, no sugar added. I'm having surgery with Dr. Washington in South Carolina. I live in New Jersey. They were having a "deal" going on for 8,000...to gain more surgerys to become a center excellence.The price is now 18,500. All my testing (blood tests and endo scopy) are included in the price.As well as a 2 day stay at the conway medical center...and a follow up the following week. I'm required to stay in the area for 12 days. Which is great b/c i need a long vacation .Dr Washington was recruited there from NJ and said if i have any problems I can go to one of his collegues. Otherwise post op follow ups will be done Via Phone and if i want to come back to SC i'm more than welcome.
