frpringle reacted to Pixie Dust in Worried how this will affect my marriage
My heart goes out to both of you. I'm so sorry you are both in miserable marriages. In fact, this weekend, my husband & I are celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary & I love him even more today than the day I married him & vice versa. He's a saint & sometimes I don't feel worthy of him but he makes me feel beautiful even tho I'm currently nearly 300 lbs. & he's so kind to me & to others & he's the greatest dad! I wish everyone to marry a man like him. In being so grateful for the man that God put in my life, makes me feel awful when I hear about how miserable some marriages are. If my husband & I were facing issues like you both, we would definitely try counseling prior to walking away from the marriage, but with all that said, at least you are both getting healthy & thinner so that whatever comes your way, you know you have the strength to deal with it after all you've been thru with the sleeve! I wish you both the best. We only get one go-around, so do what you need to do to find happiness. Life is too short to be miserable. My advice would be to finish one relationship before jumping into the next. God bless you both!

That's so wonderful!!! I don't think at this point I could run to save my life! haha! You look great in your profile before & after pics! Can't believe you've lost 200 lbs in 6 months!! Can you even believe it when you look in the mirror?? That's so awesome! God bless you!!
I do remember now reading a post of yours & that you had Dr. Carlin. I met him recently & I would have loved for him to do my surgery but I was so turned off by my experience at HF that I'm going elsewhere now. Hope the doc at the new hospital will impress me as much as Dr. Carlin did.

You will very soon and you will be so proud of yourself for it! I never met Dr. Genaw, but I really love Dr. Carlin. He was great! I have already had my last appointment with him. I've hit a plateau and haven't moved up or down in weight for several months. I'm wondering if it has to do with the loose skin? I am about to switch it up and change up my workouts and see what happens. Also, I've been drinking coffee (no no!) and I also think that has something to do with it. It's hard being a full time college student, mother, employee, etc, etc and not need the extra energy! Things will pick up again soon for me. I'm super excited for you though and I wish you the best! Please let me know if you need anything or have any questions you think I can help with

I'm so glad to hear that you like Dr. Carlin. My surgery date is 3/26 with Dr. Carlin and I'm getting so nervous. I started the liquid diet and I can't stand the Protein Drinks. I'm starving! Hopefully it will get better.

Cameron69, It does get better! It was the BEST thing I ever did for myself! No regrets here! Take your measurements & keep a log of your weight too. Walk & sip, walk & sip... Follow your dr's. & nutritionist's orders. Good luck & keep us posted.

I am just over 4 months out and I am so glad I decided to do this! I only have one regret and that is that I did not opt for the surgery sooner! I am sure many feel the same.
My starting weight was 333 lbs, 328 at date of surgery, and I am now down to 275! I may be somewhat of a slow looser, but I am pleased with my progress. I am no longer taking any blood pressure or cholesterol meds and I feel fantastic!
I am attaching two pics, one the day I meet with the nutritionist one month before surgery when I was at my highest weight of 333. The second was two weeks ago when I was at 279.

I finally got to go get my "200 lb down" present to myself, my sister tattoo! I still have a hard time believing how much I have actually lost and how different I am. So, I'm going to make sure I reward each of my milestones! Here's my first one, a tattoo shared with my sister. A big part of dealing with my weight loss was dealing with our relationship so I could mend the issues we had between us. I am so thankful for the gained relationship with her, and losing the pounds and resentment. Now I'm looking forward to the last 100 lbs to be gone, I'm well on my way!
(My sister's says: "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together...")

(Mine says: "...keep me in your (heart), I'll stay there forever.")

I started my journey on June 18, 2012 at 334.9 lbs, I was a very sad and sick woman who was not living, just existing. Well fast forward 6 months and I weigh 233 lbs (101 lbs), everything about my life has changed! I am loving my new life, enjoying my new body (so is my husband, he's like a kid on Christmas morning - every day!) and I love it! Thank you to Dr. King in Oxford, Mississippi, your my hero! The pictures below speak for themselves, the first two are before and are the most I ever weighed, the first one is the saddest I was ever in my life! The last two are last week (Dec 11) and I still can't believe it's me!

    Feb 2012, 345 lbs

May 2012, 334.9 lbs (surgery day weight)

    Dec 11, 2012, 234 lbs

    Flip it on her.
When she gets in her car to go to the store, she's a cheater. The car is a tool to make transit easier
When she goes to a resturaunt, she's a cheater, she's s paying someone to cook for her.
When she buys new cloths, she's a cheater, why not break out the needle & thread?
We all do things to make our life easier every day. Many of us find food to be our weakness, if getting a tool to help with the heavy lifting is cheating, then I'm a proud cheater.

I find that going to places for sandwiches Subway, other than to get a salad is pointless for me. I can eat bread (barely) but I really don't like to. It makes me feel full too fast and bloated and then you get hungry too soon after. If I do get bread for something, I make sure to get the Flatouts and I'll have 1/2 of one.

I got one a few weeks ago. I find the counts are fairly off but I like to see the fuel in terms of knowing I need to go do more activity. I wish it would work on things like the stationary bike. I put it in on my shoe string but it still didn't work. I'd say anything that gets you motivated to move your butt is a good thing.

Great points, Nerdy. It's important to understand that avoiding those foods when possible is always healthier, but in the real world we often have to make compromises like this. It's fully possible to incorporate these things wisely. You just have to be diligent and use moderation.
As a side note, I save so much money now...I just order a sandwich and it's two meals for me. I don't need a drink, don't want any sides and that old craving for fast food fries is long gone.
