  1. I cried after my shower this morning. I lost gobs of hair. I've started researching wigs, just incase I hit that place.

  2. I know there are a bazillion posts out there on this topic, but... oh. my. god. I am losing my hair. I'm going to be a bald bride next year! I have been taking 5500 mg of Biotin a day, plus my Multivitamins, and getting in my protien because I know thats what everyone says will help. I really haven't seen anything helping the hair loss... my only hope is that its stimulating hair growth. Anyone see The Craft? That scene were the snobby blond girl grabs a handful of hair in the shower?! I've had a moment that felt like that... several infact... nearly everytime I was my hair. I used to love washing my hair, it was one of my favorite simple pleasures, now though, I dread it. I did read that a Vitamin D deficiany and being Iron deficiant can also lend itself to hair loss, and I was Vit. D deficant presurgery, so I'm wondering that is also a contributing factor. Mostly, I just needed to vent out my fear, stress, and frustration to the one audience who understands me. I'm also hoping that in December, when I hit month 6th it will be better. It seems also when I read other's stories, that the 4th month starts the heavy hair loss and by the 6th or 7th it slows back down. I hope this true for me as well. I don't know how much more I can lose.
  3. See... I knew you guys would make me start to feel better. Some stress fading now....

    Another Hair Loss Thread...

Yep.... I'm in this club now too. I just entered my 4th month post surgery and holy cow I freak out everytime I wash my hair. I've started taking a hair, skin, & nails vitamine, recommended by my doctor. He said it won't stop it, but it can help stimulate the growth of new hair quicker. I had hair down past the middle of my back, and cut it to just below my shoulders to try and help lighten up the weight of my hair, but man I really hope that this stops before I have bald spots.

    Afraid To Eat :)

You're welcome. And I also forgot the other great first week mushie food, Greek Yogurt! Its smooth, easy to swallow, and has a high protien count.

I Need To Lose 150-180 Pounds, I Need Your Opinions!

It is your choice, but in your shoes I would have still chosen the sleeve. Based on its success rate, and its complication risks. Its a tool, just like a bypass would be. How successful that tool is to you depends on how well you use it, and how well you make the necessary changes in your life to make that tool do its job.

    Afraid To Eat :)

My first blended food was actually applesauce, followed by egg salad (which became my favorite), and fat free refried Beans. After the first week, I got braver, and started adding things like mild salsa and a sprinkle of low fat cheese to my beans, and did tuna and chicken salad blended. Just take baby steps. I went as far as getting small bowls and baby spoons to use those weeks, to help me take small bites and remind me to eat slow. I also tried to do other things while eating like read a magazine, so I would take a bite, chew, and swallow all while reading and it made me eat slower.

    Boulder Holder

I was lucky in that I was allowed a 3 week LOA from work, so I went without that entire time... getting used to wearing them again was actually sorta challenging. LOL I started using Genie Bras and I love them! They're comfy, work pretty well and as you shrink they sorta fit better than your standard bra or sports bra. I didn't really have pain lifting my arms up, but I did have discomfort if I stretched to deeply, or twisted to much. Just be slow and careful. Its silly, but my doctor said, if it hurts don't do it. If it doesn't slowly proceed.

    2 Week Liquid Diet

There are other options!! It takes some creativity. There is this wonderful blog, you'll see mentioned here or there on this site. Its called the World According to Eggface, and the writer had gastric bypass surgery. Since our surgeries are so closely related, her site is a wealth of information!! Here is the link to her shakes... remember after surgery that you'll need to avoid any of the shakes that have fruit with seeds (like Strawberries) until you are healed up. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-favorite-protein-shake-recipes.html

    Woohoo!

Congratulations! Best advice at this point, is stay strong, stay focused, and always remember where you are going and never forget where you've been.
  20. I just had a coworker as me out on a date and ask me to dump my boyfriend. HAHA!! Too bad for him I'm head over heels in love. ;)

  21. I must be rounding the next corner. People who see me all the time are saying I look like I've lost more weight. This is a good thing.

    Struggling W/ Everything

You can also try adding more water to your Crystal Lite than it calls for to help disolve more of that sweet taste away. Also remember that if you still drink a protein shake, that counts towards your liquid for the day. Hang in there!
  23. I went from a size 20 to a 16 with out realizing it. It took me reaching 50 pounds lost before I was ready to look for smaller clothes, and I tried 18s and they were too large. I think its just everyone's body changes shape in different places in different ways.
  24. Just back from my 3 month follow up, and my doc is really pleased with everything and said everything is perfect. Yay!
