    Celebrating my bandiversary today

Thank you all so much! The positivity and encouragement here means more than you know. Maintenance is a scary new chapter for me but I know the hard work it takes is worth it. @mrswynter22 I haven't had any complications with my band. I would say the only hiccup for me was severe constipation (resulting in a hospital visit) but that has improved as I've adapted my eating/drinking to my bodys needs. I reached the green zone pretty early on and have had no issues. Love the band. @2muchfun LOL yes, a lot of people don't recognize me or walk right by me thinking I'm someone else. Airport security didn't believe my I.D. was actually me!
  3. I cannot believe its been a year already! I have been emotional all day thinking about it. I had my 1 year check up today where they took a new photo of me, and gave me a before and after comparison. I was literally in shock when I saw it. To Celebrate, I bought myself a bike (have not ridden one in over 10 years). I also went to the DMV and got a new drivers license, with a new photo and my REAL weight on it - LOL! Today has been a great day. Can't wait to see what's next.

Courage to not feel embarrassed I failed.

I'm a huge basketball fan, and they say the best players are the ones with the shortest memories. He doesn't remember the last shot he missed, he only knows the next one is going in! So forgive yourself for falling off the wagon and move forward. You only "FAIL" when you stop trying... and you haven't! Wish you all the best.
  6. Today is my 1 year bandiversary. I feel very emotional... But mostly blessed, and grateful for the support I've received over the past year. Never give up!

Non scale victory at Disney World!

That is a huge victory!!! yay! I bet you felt so free not being confined to your scooter every day. PS. Disney is the best.

    Feeling pretty miserable

The biggest hurdle is mental. I promise, all of this will be worth it. Remind yourself that you did not go through a painful and expensive surgery just to sabotage it over one meal. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy real food later on. Drink plenty of hot tea, go for walks, and check in here when you need the extra support. We have your back.

    Struggling with weight loss

We need a bit more information. When was your last fill? Are you regularly checking in with your doctor? Are you exercising, or logging your food? I'm sorry to hear you're struggling, but 9lbs is nothing you can't bounce back from. You can do it!

Never heard of Gritty Goddess before. Is it a workout DVD? Good for you for trying something new.

    tell me about peanut butter

I like reduced fat crunchy peanut butter. I measure and stick to the 2tbsp serving size. I find logging my food and staying very active allows me to enjoy almost anything, including peanut butter, in moderation.
