    Any Regrets?

I had my sleeve surgery in February and have lost 65lbs. Now, I have zero regrets. But, I will say I was not prepared for the emotional part at first either. I will just say it all gets better. I feel totally normal now and can eat more than I thought I was going to be able too, the beauty is, just can't over do it. Hang in there, it will get better. The first 6 to 8 weeks is the hardest.

    Anyone On My Fitnesspal

Great! I'll have to add some of you. Fitness pal has saved me, it is so easy to use. My name is Gibson527
  3. I just started eating regular food a couple weeks ago. Since then, I've been depressed because I feel like I've been eating too much when in reality, I haven't. I've been surprised that nothing bothers me. I must make better choices. I am very thankful that I physically can not eat too much, but still can eat more than I thought I could. Several times I've eaten too much and it is very uncomfortable. I feel like a failure already even though I'm still losing weight. I started my liquid diet on 2/9 and had surgery on 2/23. I'm down 48lbs. But, I feel like its all about to come to a screeching halt.

I'm Having A Really Hard Time

The first few days are the hardest. It will get easier, not fun, but easier. It's a journey for sure. Hang in there, you can do it.

    Need Some Encouragement

I feel your pain. I'm 10 day post op and feel the same way. It's like even when I can eat, it's only going to be a 1/4 cup. I just wonder if I will ever feel normal again. And I have been obsessing about my hair falling out. I already have thin hair. I was not prepared for the emotional aspect of this deal. Food has always been a big part of my life and now it's like I've gotten a divorce from it. I know I am not being encouraging, but wanted to let you know you are not alone. And from what I understand, how we feel is normal.

    Pre-Op Diet

One more thing, I treated myself with the best water. I.e. Fiji or smart water. For some reason that helped me too

    Pre-Op Diet

Oh and the Isopure I bought the individual ones at the vitamin store. There is a bit of a aftertaste, so I just sip it throughout the day. The mango one had the worst aftertaste, I won't get that one again. The grape is pretty good

    Pre-Op Diet

BariEssentials by Fortify Nutritionals, they are actually very good. I added different extracts to change up the flavor and they were actually good. And I absolutely had to blend mine with ice, otherwise I can't stand the shakes. My favorite was to freeze coffee and use the frozen coffee cubes and even add a pack of Nestlé instant coffee. It is like a frapachinno and so good.

    Pre-Op Diet

Honestly, the two week liquid diet was extremely difficult for me. I had the protein shakes and chicken broth. The chicken broth was like having steak to a starving stomach. The first 4 days were the hardest, but then you hit a groove and it really does get easier. The protein shakes will help curve your appetite, if you use like 1% milk. I also drank zero calorie poweraid for variety. Ate sugar free jello and chewed it to make me feel like I was eating. I looked at as my part in the deal, cheating was not an option, I told myself if I cheated, they wouldn't do the surgery. I think how much you lose depends on how big you are in the first place. I started my liquid diet at 297 and I lost 23lbs. I just had my surgery on the 23rd and I am down to 265. I never thought I would drop this quickly. It keeps me going though, cause the liquid diet doesn't stop after surgery. As a matter of fact, my dr. requires another 4 weeks! It's all about allowing yourself to heal, cause you do not want leaks! They are bad news. At least now on my liquid diet I can have some soup like cream of mushroom, etc. Getting all the protein after surgery is a challenge, I am relying on Isopure a lot, so tired of the shakes. Anyway, you can do it. I never thought I could as I have never been successful at a diet, so if I can, anyone can.

    Hungry

So, I am one week post op and things have been going relatively well. Right now, I just want to eat something. I haven't eaten anything for three weeks and I'm a little tired of protein shakes. The soup has been a nice addition, but I would LOVE a chicken breast about now. It's not that I want to eat bad, just want some substanance. What's the deal with waiting like 3 weeks before you even eat mashed potatoes. Can anyone relate? App availaible on the Android Market.
  13. That's wonderful! I remember that call, the best news ever.

    Started My Liqued Diet Today.....

The two week pre op was brutal, no way I could have done it had it not been for surgery. I was very proud of myself that I did not cheat. I keep telling myself if I cheated they wouldn't do the surgery. I just had my surgery and now have several weeks of liquids to look forward too. But at this point, that's fine by me, one day at a time.
