  1. I waited 9 long months, but it was worth it.
  2. i have been anemic for a long time and am taking iron....and i didnt need a transfusion, though i am still on the low end. Dont worry!
  3. Alexandra, What about that water loading stuff? Does that apply to us and what good does it do to drink water that fast?
  4. I never tried those because i still had some SCAN shakes from GNC when i was on a Atkins type diet. they are okay tasting. They come as a powder, i use my tupperware shaker to mix it.
  5. I stayed overnight, and my hubby stayed with me. I had a total of 6 tiny punctures and 1- 2" incision where my port is supposed to be, but i cant feel it. they told me anywhere from 4-8 small incisions are normal, they didnt hurt very much at all, and had no outer stitches or staples, just little tapes that were taken off 5 days later.
  6. I found this on a UK support board: http://leslie_anne1.tripod.com/pouch_rules.htm
  7. advice from a nurse, if your tongue is white, eat some yogurt that has live cultures of lactobacillus acidophilus in it, most do, this is the happy bacteria that normally live in your body to fight yeast. your balance of yeast to happy bacteria is probably off, yogurt will restore some of it!
  8. welcome, we can use your experiences!
  9. congratulations, you certainly are a superbander!

I had 2 days of clear liquids, they werent bad at all because i drank soda pop which is filling and knowing that you cant have it after the surgery..i had to get my diet pepsi fix in. I thought the clears weren't bad at all....but the laxative i had to drink was tortuous!

  13. I am 2 days postop lapband, my doctor gave me scripts for my pain medicine a week before surgery to have filled ahead of time. Maybe the hospital thought you had yours already too. It is good that you are managing with just the tylenol. I have liquid roxicet..it makes me dizzy and slightly nauseated so maybe you are better without it, i rarely use mine now.
  14. Sept 17 for me, I am sore, dizzy & bloated. I was surprized to find out i have 6 incisions! Did everyone get this many? i am happy to hear from others from september.
  15. I am about to be banded soon, so I want to stock up and watch for sales. I want to know which protein shakes actually taste good, and which nutrition bars taste good. Any advice appreciated. Any online deals for buying them?
  16. Make sure your doctors know about it if you are sure it is not from the food you are eating, chest pressure is still a sign of a heart attack.
  17. thankyou, i have my meeting with the surgeon next week and i am just afraid he will try to talk me out of the band. I wouldnt have even known about my reflux if it wasn't for my upper gi test. I have no heartburn at all. thanks for your reassurance.
  18. I heard that if you have significant reflux prior to surgery, they wont band me, but they will offer the rny insteady because this surgery "cures" it. I don't want the rny. Anyone else have reflux and still get banded, any problems after?
  19. Hi, It's my 1st time here today and i am so excited to find a place just for bandsters. I am tired of reading about the rny. It does not pertain to what i really need to know...I want to know what it is like from someone who already went thru it. I have 2 friends that are going to have it after me, and they are already counting on me to be the knowledgable one...Help! I have been reading alot and learning alot and hope to pass on valuable experience...just as soon as you give me some of yours! thanks, for your honesty and support janet:)
