Hi There!

O.K. I am new at this so bear with me. My insurance has approved me and I am going to schedule my pre-op studies in mid October. Then set a date for surgery after the third of November. I have to wait for some vacation time since I am a single Mom. I have to admit I am still a little apprehensive because I am not sure if I will have the willpower needed for the pre-op diet and the liquid fase. I am just trying to stay focused on the end results.

hey harleykat!!

the liquid diet stinks!!! i am sure you can imagine! all dr's a different i had 2 weeks liquids. some have no pre-op diet just no food the day before or day of surgery.

i did great the first 5 days then the weekend hit and i ate fast food, grilled food, snacky foods, anything i could swallow!!! basically a binge. (gee sounds like my diet history, no wonder i need the band!) then the next week i ate regular till 4 days before. i did 2 days Protein shakes only and 2 days Clear Liquids only. and believe it or not... LOST 6 pounds...

now the post op diet is a little easier because you dont FEEL like eating much less like cheating!!!

I had 2 days of clear liquids, they werent bad at all because i drank soda pop which is filling and knowing that you cant have it after the surgery..i had to get my diet pepsi fix in. I thought the clears weren't bad at all....but the laxative i had to drink was tortuous!
