I am 25 weeks. I have gained 19 lbs. Doing awesome so far. My doc says 25-30 lbs gain is ok. Of course I want the least amount of gain possible. Though I plan to breastfeed.

Do you know how long the stall lasts or is it different for everyone at 3 weeks? It's different for everybody. I had several Along the way. The first few really upset me then I realized how much my body was actually changing during these stalls. Your body's cells have to re-align and re-adjust after weight changes so it makes sense really. I know I had one stall that liked to drove me crazy that lasted 3 weeks or so but in that time frame my pants got so loose I had to go buy smaller ones. So I stopped thinking of those periods as stalls and realized they were really just adjustment periods my body needed.

Yea I'm only 3 weeks (not even) post op and I'm at a stall and then I stepped on the scale it said i gained two lbs. it has always been common for me to go up a couple lbs during my period though so I'm hoping this is just what it is. Trying not to get discouraged dde16The 3 week stall is super common. And gaining with TOM and/or stalling is common too. Don't worry! I always gained a few lbs and/or stalled during TOM...

Thanks for the advice and info everyone. I dont think I am going to wait. I see the doc at the end of next week so I am going to ask his opinion. If I thought the baby wouldbe in danger I would wait of course. Considering all the women who keep getting pregnant early and seem to have no problems' date=' it makes it hard to wait! I am ovulating now...lol.[/quote']I got preggo at 11 months out. I was 12 lbs from my dream goal of 136. I was a size 8/medium.... Still a medium. Just in preggo clothes or even regular shirts in a size large. My health is great. The baby is great. Life is great! Lol. Talk to your surgeon but I am sure u will be fine...

Congrats to our new moms!I will say that while those hormones are still flooding your body (and especially if you're breastfeeding) that desire to eat' date=' eat, eat doesn't fade immediately post op. At least it didn't for me! It was like a never-ending period - I wanted to snack and eat and graze all day long.
I have said it elsewhere: the absolute most challenging thing I have encountered since surgery was the shift from maintenance to pregnancy and back into loss after she was born. UGH! Mentally, it's a major PITA to adjust and stop basically, doing what you want without consequence!
I still have 7-8 pounds to go, and it's slow going. There are many things affecting us that will slow the loss: lack of sleep, hormone fluctuation, breastfeeding - and even just waiting for your sleeve to stop being relaxed from the pregnancy.
But within a few weeks I was back to feeling a lot of restriction. The way to get started is the same way you started before: dense Protein first. Snack on things like hard boiled eggs, Jerky, small, controlled portions of cheese or yogurt. Protein, protein, protein. And I added in a shake again and consume one daily. It helps.
Hang in there!

I was very worried about gaining weight also... but surprisingly it hasn't been that way. This is not my first child... my other pregnancies I just looked very overweight. I actually just look preggo with this one... I'm tiny everywhere except my round belly! I'm really enjoying this pregnancy. ... sad that it will be my last baby' date=' but he was a surprise and we weren't planning on having anymore... so I'm very thankful to be blessed with him. Good luck when you start trying. And don't be concerned about any weight gain.[/quote']
I can relate. I just looked overweight before too. It's nice to just look obviously pregnant!

Well I went Tuesday for this dreaded test... I really struggled to finish the drink.... thankfully the nurse's husband had a gastric bypass... so she knew exactly my concerns and gave me a little extra time to finish the drink. Well after finishing I was so concerned about the hour wait... I started to feel very miserable 5 minutes in. And It happened... I ran to the bathroom and puked the entire thing back up! It was disgusting.... My obgyn says he may want to try again... but he also did an ultrasound to measure the baby and baby looks great and right on target. ... he then said he does not see a concern for gestational diabetes and he is gonna let me skip the test! Woo Hoo! So very glad cause I don't think I could even try to drink that drink again!I told you. It was like torture. I don't understand why they just don't jelly bean test all pregnant people. It's so much easier. Why put a pregnant person through that if there's an easier way? Being pregnant itself is hard enough.

I would definitely call and let him know your surgery plans. It never hurts!

Hey girl!We had our sleeves done right around the same time. I am also pregnant' date=' my due date is NYE! I am scheduled for my U/S on Monday and I cannot wait to find out what we are having![/quote']
Yay!! Almost halfway there. I am so excited!

For me, it's almost funny to be considered high risk. Since surgery and losing over 100 lbs I am healthy as a horse! Now, high risk when I had the last baby and was super overweight and had nothing but problems I understand. This pregnancy is going GREAT in comparison!

This is my 3rd pregnancy and my first miscarriage. My other 2 were very healthy pregnancies. This has been so devastating for me because my husband and I have been trying for 2.5yrs to get pregnant. Went to infertility doctors. Took shots and pills and did blood work and ultrasounds twice a week for a year straight. My body became emotionally and physically exhausted. So this baby was truly our miracle baby. I feel as though a piece of my heart has been ripped out losing this baby. It may not make sense as to why I am so devastated losing something I had only for a short period of time' date=' but when you have been thru what we have been thru trying to conceive it becomes a different story.[/quote']
Let me just say, I am extremely fertile apparently. Even when I was overweight. I have lost count of how many miscarriages I have had over the years. And each one was devastating for me. Every time I get pregnant I worry that my body won't hold on to it. So I understand what you mean. It doesn't matter if you were 2 weeks pregnant or second trimester. It still hurts. Take time for yourself to heal emotionally. I will be thinking of you!

I only had to eat 18 jelly Beans in 5 min. I think the drink (10 ounces shoved in our sleeve in 5 min) was the problem. My sleeve can't hold 10 ounces all at once so it came back up. Then I felt terrible. Yes, the sugar in the jelly beans made me feel kinda poopy but I drank Water after to flush out and felt better. Ask for the jelly bean test. It's way better.
-
The jelly bean test was easy breezy actually. I don understand why they don't do that test for all pregnant people. Doesn't make sense.
-
You are lucky! That glucose drink was awful! The jelly bean test went fabulous though! I don't know why they just don't do that for everybody!
-
I was told today after throwing up the glucose drink and becoming very sick that I can do the "jelly bean" test instead. I sure hope that goes better. I don't feel so good.
-
I drank the nasty stuff this morning at the doc and immediately felt cold sweats and clammy. Then I started throwing up. I feel terrible. They want me to come back Friday and do the "jelly bean" test. Never heard of it but I do hope it goes better than this test did. I will be spending the day resting.

I am 3 months pregnant. Having the same thing going on. I have gained about 4 lbs. I gain and lose the same few lbs. Doc told me not to worry so much about weight gain till the end of the 2nd trimester. So for now I am not going to stress. I do feel restriction similar to what it was when I was just out of surgery some days. It's a chore to eat anything. Still battling morning sickness most days... Hoping to feel better soon.
-
Ha! Not that great! Lol! I get it so bad every single pregnancy. I hate it. But it takes the edge off. I have been extremely nauseous at times but haven't thrown up nearly as much as previously.
-
Yes. Bigger than starbursts. But same concept. I put one in the side of my mouth and then chew when the flavor starts diminishing. It seems to be helping. I threw up air/ saliva this morning. Got up and at it too early without popping a chew or eating. Soooo miserable! I got a B12 shot this afternoon for the first time since becoming pregnant and I feel great right now!
-
I am pregnant with #5 also! And this excessive saliva drives me batty. One thing that seems to help me is ginger chews. I got some from the health food store and it eases the nausea too!
-
I guess I should ask if there is a post surgery guideline for that at my next OB visit. My OB is saying I have to drink that nasty stuff twice this pregnancy because of my age... Yuck!!

No. Everybody says ours stomachs stretch while pregnant but some restriction comes back after giving birth. I Intend to go back to a strict sleepers diet after baby to help things out.
