    How Long Before Normal Lifting?

I couldn't lift more than ten lbs for 6 weeks. My surgeon warned that doing any more could cause a hernia near the incision they used to pull the old stomach out. Be careful.

It's Been Two Weeks...no Weight Loss

At 4 weeks I didn't lose a thing. Then at 5 weeks I gained 3 lbs. I was upset. But I kept following the rules and it started coming off again. I am at almost three mths now and doing awesome!

Pain On Right Side Lower Back

I had this. I was diagnosed with chest wall syndrome. It's basically a waking up of the nerves surrounding the area that was messed with after a major surgery. Usually happens to open heart patients but can happen and is common in other major surgeries as well. Mine was severe. Excruciating but went away very quickly. Take Tylenol and don't overdo it.

    When On The Skin?

It never hurts to go ahead with a consult now. At the consult the surgeon will tell you how close you need to be before the surgery can be done.

    New

Hi guys! I am two mths out and super happy with my sleeve. The first six weeks is all adjustment and it does get easier! Let me know if I can help in any way and good luck!
  10. I am only two months out but already I am finding there are days when I don't have to drink a shake because I have eaten all the Protein I needed for the day. Some days only half a shake is needed. I prefer it that way versus what I could be going through being banded. My restriction still feels super tight. As I get further out and can eat more ounces of food at a time I won't need the shakes at all so says the surgeon. My older sister had lap band with plication. She gets fills every couple months. She says they sting pretty painfully. She has to be on Clear liquids for 2 days after every fill. And then there is a chance one day the band will slip and the percentage of stretching the placated stomach years down the line causing weight regain are greater as they fold the stomach over instead of removing it. I have other friends who were banded and one throws up constantly, the other didn't lose near what she wanted to, third lost her insurance due to changing jobs and moving and couldn't afford the fills so she is gaining her weight back. Only number 4 is happy with hers. My mother n law had bypass and got down to a size 8, is now asking for my plus size clothes that don't fit as she has gained her weight back. I really believe I made the right choice for the long term. That being said u must do your part! Then let the sleeve do the rest. I am doing something I never thought I would...learning to play racquetball! It's so much fun and a great work out! And I owe my sleeve for it. Good luck on your research!
  11. I expected to be cold right away too. I was surprised it took a few weeks but it made sense. It took my body a while to adjust on all fronts. We are saving a couple hundred per mth in elec bill around here compared to last summer because I don't stay hot all day. It's fabulous!

    Taking Biotin. Greasy Hair?

Change in hormones combined with hotter weather is my guess (I am a licensed barber)...you need a good clarifying shampoo added to your routine. Shampoo twice. Clarifying then Ur normal stuff then condition. Did u know that shampoo is designed to need to be used twice?? The first time it's applied it attaches to the dirt and debris and pulls it out when u rinse and the second time it actually cleanses because there isn't much dirt or debris getting in the way.

    May 15Th...anyone Else?

Feeling great. Getting in to a routine now so that has been less stressful. I have lost 40 lbs total since pre op and 22 since surgery. Hit a stall weeks 4 and 5 and actually gained 3 lbs! But the stall broke so I am losing now.
