  6. I kept myself busy! I just try and keep my mind off of food. My husband did the cooking while I was unable to eat and it helped me a lot. Good luck and hang in there. Pure will power during this time but you are on the right track and keep up the good work.
  7. Hang in there. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Remember we have all been there with you. It is hard and right now it is all about self control. Please make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
  8. Does the hiccup happen when you are eating? If so this is a sign to stop and put your fork down.
  9. You need to take a deep breath and step back for a minute. Remind yourself why you are getting this surgery. You are getting this tool to have a healthier life and body. Don't let others talk you out of this if this is really what you want. Good luck!
  10. Ice is best for your tummy. You will start feeling better in a couple of days. Hang in there.
  11. Jess I can feel mine with a big stretch. Have you had a fill yet? Wait until you get a feel. It was the weirdest sensation.
  12. AWESOME! Happy for you! Keep up the good work!
  13. I am assuming you worried about having a BM? Yes this is normal because you are consuming nothing but liquid. As long as don't feel constipated you should be fine. If you do feel this way you can drink some smooth move tea or take a laxative. Good luck.
  14. You will feel a pinch and them some pressure and then it is over. I was really nervous the first time too. You will be fine. Good luck!
  15. I can feel mine with my hand. It doen'st bother me from sleeping on my stomach or side. It did take about a month post op before I could.

  17. I only eat three meals a day and my last visit with the doc I told him between lunch and dinner is the worse. I usually eat lunch at 11:30 and by the time I get home I am really hungry. He told me to have a snack to hold me over until dinner. I don't need a snack everyday but there are days where I do so. I eat something healthy.

Who told you you didn't qualify? I was a self-pay and didn't have any co-morbidities and my bmi was 39.1.
  19. You need to insert the bbcode.
  20. The temp card came with some documentation to request perm one. I just logged onto the website and requested.
  21. I recieved a temp card when I was discharged and applied for the perm within a couple of days. The card just states the id# of the band, my name, surgery date, surgeon's name and number. It also states the band size and in tiny print at the buttom it states the following: This cardholder has an adjustable gastric band implanted aroun the stomach to retrict food intake. This device is MRI compatible. Cuastion should be taken when prescribing potentially ulcerogenic medications or performing any gastric or abdominal prodecure. Additional emergency information for healthcare provider can be found online at lapbandcentral.com/er. Note to restaurants: Please allow this person to order smaller portions, as the amount of food this person can eat has been greatly reduced. I have not used at a restaurant yet but I will if they deny my a kids or senior meal.
  22. Congrats! It will be here before you know it!
  23. I would call your doc and see if he will give you something for the nausea. Hope you start feeling better soon.
