  1. It was vanilla, but I don't remember the brand.
  2. I second the motion to stay away from protein powder and oatmeal. I tried it and it was HORRIBLE. I'm here to tell the world.
  3. If you can get or make some fruit purée, that goes great with Greek yogurt (with a little sweetener). I stumbled upon at work and I love it. I know not everyone's work carries Greek yogurt with 3 choices of purée. Honestly, I don't even know how to make purée, but its worth learning. I use strawberry and it masks the taste of the greek yogurt and goes down smoothly.
  4. Hey, I haven't seen any other postings about Greek food. Most Greek restaurants have avglommeno (sp?) soup. You could also maybe eat the insides of a dolmade. I believe that's finely chopped meat inside a grape leaf. Both are Greek specialties. I suppose you know this already, but look at the online menu in advance. I can't go anywhere without doing that. Good luck and happy birthday!
  5. I had the same problem with the scan coming off. I cleaned the wound with peroxide. I may get some of those steri strips. Let me know how yours works out. I'm concerned about it as well.
  6. I had most of an omelette and some potatoes for lunch. I feel like I could eat more. Please tell me this will be diminished with a fill!
  7. I have my first fill on 3/24. I total understand being anxious about it. I've read up on it, but I'm still not sure what to expect. Mine will also be in Mexico. I'm hoping the fill will help. My weightloss has slowed to a stop. I've even gained a couple of lbs. yikes!
  8. I flew the day after my surgery and I was fine. Everyone heals differently, but I couldn't imagine you having a problem 7 wks out.
  9. I tried to do the pudding. I just can't. I haven't had it in 30 years and I know why. I hate it. I'm trying to pawn it off on somebody. Lol. I make this tuna pâté recipe for my mushies, which is basically tuna and cottage cheese and some other stuff blended. I love it. It's the only way I'll eat cottage cheese.
  10. Hey JennyBee, I'm doing a protein shake or 2 eggs with a little cheese for breakfast. For lunch, I have this high protein spice Hunter soup that I've been eating. For dinner, either refried beans, tuna pâté or this quinoa and chicken concoction I just made this weekend. The chicken goes done kinda hard, though.
  11. Thanks for the info, JennyBee. BTW, what are you eating for your regular meals?
  12. I'm glad things went well for you. I get my first fill this weekend and I'm kind of scared based on some of the posts I've read. That's interesting that your doc has you on one day of liquids. Did it hurt at all?
  13. That's a great article. Thanks.
  14. Thanks. I was worried that maybe I would be missing something by having someone not specifically related to lap band. How often do you of to yours?
  15. Hey Luv bug I found a recipe for a tuna pâté that I've been living on for the past couple of days. 2 cans tuna 1 c cottage cheese 3 tbsp lite mayo 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce 1 tsp garlic flakes Optional: green onion Place ingredients in blender. Blend till smooth, but not till it's too liquidy. Refrigerate for 3 hours. I love it. It's the only way I'll eat cottage cheese. The ingredients sound gross, but come together wonderfully. I'm gonna make some more tonight with nf plain yogurt instead of the mayo. I've been eating it in 1/2 c portions and it satisfies.
  16. Hi, I was banded in Mexico on 2/26/12. I've been looking for a follow up program. My work actually offers a dietician service. I was wondering if anyone has used follow-up care that wasn't specifically related to lap band and what you thought about it.
  17. Hi I was banded on 2/26. I can't believe it's almost been a week. Does anyone know of a good post op care program in the Phoenix area? Closer to Chandler would be great.
  18. I was just banded on Sunday and I am starving! Any suggestions?
