    What Is The First Step??

Tia, I would think you would go to your primary care doctor first because insurance approval they will want a possible letter of reccomdation for the surgery. Also any other doctors you go to tell them you are considering lapband or the bypass surgery. You will see several doctors prior to your initial surgery, which is all for insurance purposes. I will tell you though it is well worth it!! Good Luck!

Top Things That Just Tick Me Off And Just Rambling!

I also was not suggesting strictly protein shakes but just wanting to share a product I have found, that has got me excited and back on track. I do my protein in the morning, and then a nice nutritional lunch, late snack, and then another protein shake. Before this I had gotten off track and eatting way WAY to much sugar because it went down so easily (go fiqure) and doing no protein .I was so off track somedays all I ate was sugar. I have since found a product that has curved my sugar cravings, makes me feel like I am enjoying something sweet but now it is all the different variety Protein shakes which has got me back on track. I am excited about this because it is helping me get over my slump and get back into action and I was truly thrilled. The better protein shakes can become expensive and I was sharing how they can be free. I really meant no harm I also was so excited about all the different recipes to make oulr shakes more enjoyable. .If protein shakes make you grumpy you might want to consider trying another protein mix, and experiment with all the different recipes available. I now look forward to my protein intake, In fact going to fix me a caramel coffee now.My intentions were truly good, Well I am not sure if I feel better now responding to the post, maybe I will after my shake.

Top Things That Just Tick Me Off And Just Rambling!

To everyone I apologize, I was just sharing it because I found one I really liked that is all. Plus since protein shakes are so important to our daily nutrition, sometimes they can get boring. There are so many great recipes now, and this particular shake has just got me back on track so I wanted to share it, I was just excited to be back on track. I did not intend to offend anyone. I am on that same journey and i was sharing what has made my life easier and more enjoyable.

    How Do U Know?

I know what your saying, I have canceled before. I am at my so called sweetspot now, but he still wants to see me every six months. Occationally they will want to do a blood panel to make sure you are getting all your nutrition. Sounds like your doing fantastic!! I'm at a stand still, but I know what I was doing wrong. I am back on track though. I think your protein shakes and vitamins are so very important. Then we don't make the wrong decisions.

    How Do U Know?

As my doctor explained to me, everyone is different on how many CC's are appropriate for that person at that time in their journey. Sounds like right now your fill is right where it should be. As you begin to lose weight your band will loosen and not be as effective. That is when you should schedule a fill. My doctor explained eventually you will hit what is so called a sweetspot. Each time though when you get a fill you take a chance for possible swelling and at worst slippage. I have had the same fill for the past year. I have maintained my weight, but I haven't been losing. I know what I am doing wrong though, and I am on my way to getting back on track. Mint it sounds to me you are right on track.
  9. I am so sorry you are having problems with your band, but your health is number one priority. I agree you should go to the ER, or lapband doctor and tell them your issues.
  10. Oh my ladybug you brought tears to my eyes, I am so happy for you and your family. Definitely friend me, I wish I had signed up at this site two tears ago. It is just so wonderful to have people that know where I am and where I going in this new part of our lives. Do not be nervous though, it was one of my easier surguries. I saw people being concerned with gas, but it is really no more than what you get from protein shakes. I just kept the chawable gasx. well have a great Day!

  12. Ladybug, You will do fantastic and I tell you it falls off quickly. Don't buy new clothes for awhile because in a week they won't fit. I have been 170 this whole past year now, but I have started a new program to kick it back in gear. So I am pumped again. I lost 5 pounds this past week, gotten back on my shakes, just follow the program. My sister had lapband same time as me and never got a fill, nothing God Bless Her she just couldnt give up food.

In beginning I worked out but I am disabled and fell, so I have to take it somewhat easy. Still I am more active then I ever was before the lapband. I am right now sipping on a shake I made with caramel sugar free coffee syrup, decaf coffee, alittle cocoa, low fat silk protein milk and my new protein.. I'm in heaven!!
