About Me

  • Gender
    Female
  1. I was banded 03/2012 with my highest weight being 318. The lowest I saw with the band was 237 around 07/2014. I rarely felt real restriction and worked out 5-6 days a week, 2 hours a day, to get to 237. Once I couldn't keep up the workout routine I began gaining. My doctor/nutritionist put me on a diet pill around 10/2015 which I didn't see much results and hated the side effects. I was unbanded on 05/2016 and am on schedule for my revision 12/2016. Currently, I am about 305. My surgeon suggested a sleeve, but I am wondering if bypass would give me better results despite the complications that can come from bypass. Should I push for a bypass instead of the sleeve? Do others feel they would've been more successful with a band to bypass revision? I have a goal weight of 155-170 pounds.

    What's your goal weight?

How did you come up with your goal weight if your doctor didn't give one? Especially for those who chose goals higher than their normal BMI. I haven't been under 200 pounds in my adult life, so I don't have a weight that I recall being comfortable at. Suggestions... I'm 5'4, starting weight 315 (03/2012) (at least a starting goal before I consider plastics) (also, if theres anyone in the nyc area that did consults for plastics, I'd like to know ballpark figures of popular procedures... or the input of anyone that went or is considering plastics in Mexico or DR)

    Support Of Loved Ones/death

I really thank you guys for the support. It is very heartfelt, especially coming from strangers. Thank you Marfar7 for sharing your story with me. It makes me feel like I must be able to keep going with my life and that I will find a love not necessarily the same, but great like the one I lost. Thank you. (I will also try to look into a support group once things slow down for me a bit.)
  5. I lost the love of my life a few days ago. He was the first man that I believe truly loved me and treated me like a princess. When it came to wls, he didn't want me to do it, whatever his reasons might of been. He said he didn't care about how I looked; he loved me regardless. I did it anyway, because it was something I wanted to do for myself. Once he realized that, he respected that and became supportive. Yet, I felt reassured that as I get smaller I had someone that is truly commited, not just someone into me because of how I look. I felt proud to be getting "sexy" for my baby. All in all, it hurts. But I would say, if you have someone by your side during your transformation, hug them tight. I am current down about 55#s since late March. Anytime I felt discouraged that I wasn't losing enough, he'd be there to listen and encourage me, telling me not to beat myself up. I owe so much to him; I hope he knows how much he meant to me.

    October Spooktacular Challenge

I am checking in at 260.2 down from 268.2. Under normal circumstances I would be joyful, but I only lost this much because I lost the love of my life this weekend. I can't eat and its causing me to lose too much. Please keep me in your prayers if you can.
