Running At The Gym And Driving In The Car
I was told by my dr that I could not jogg/run for 4-6 weeks after surgery. You have to let your inside heal other wise you risk something happening and I'm sure that you don't want to be in the er in pain. I would ask your dr to be sure

Excessive Gas
Sorry that you are still in pain as far as the gas goes. I had mine done on the 12th and I am 4 days post op. My gas has subsided a lot but I take my gas x 2 of them three times a day and I walk tons I even get on the treadmill. You can try beano or any over the counter liquid antacids I usually buy the one from CVS it's cherry flavor and that helps tons too. also the the liquid lortab that should have been prescribed to you helps a lot as well for pain. I hope that you find relief soon

Surgery Day
Good Luck to you I had my surgery on 4/12 and I am doing just great! I was so nervous and scared the day of my surgery it wasn't even funny lol I was crying in the pre ope area and couldn't stop but than I remembered why I was having this surgery and plus my mother n law and my husband were in the area with me and making me laugh so much that i forgot why I was crying in the first place. Just relax and you will do fine it helps when u have a loved one near to help makes things easier on you. it also helps that the anesthesiologist gives you something in your Ivy to help you relax than before you know it you wake up in recovery Just also remember take deep breaths after surgery this will help with the gas pain.

Preop Diet. No Weight Loss.
I was on muscle milk three times a day per my dr and worked out on the treadmill and walked outside up until yesterday my surgery date and lost weight try that also the working out part if not doing so already. The purpose of this liquid diet is to help with shrinking your liver so that your dr can get in there if the liver is to enlarge they won't be able to do the surgery. Best of luck to you with this.

Alittle Confused :-/
I also have Tri care and went through this same process. At first they denied me because I didn't have current 6 months of consecutive dr visits regarding my weight issues with my PCP. So I had to compete that first than I appeal it and I was approve in February and just had my surgery yesterday. Hang in there things will get better for you soon you can also log Into triwest.com with your user name etc and check the status on approval or not . Best of luck to you

Yay that is cool where are you having yours done at... I am having mine done in Nv have to be there at 0600 How are you doing on the pre op diet ....- Pre Op Diet - Shakes
Try the banana cream by muscle milk it is great!!!! I also use the chocolate flavor one and I use 2 scoops of the Protein and 12 oz of Water stick in my ninja blender with 2 to 3 ice cubes and blend and it taste much better and colder. good luck on your surgery. Also too the reason for this pre op diet is because it allows your liver to go down in size your dr needs this to happen in order to get to where he needs to get to. If you can while on this pre op diet exercise, exercise, exercise. since I have been on this pre opp diet I have already lost 8 Lbs in just 4 days!- Liquid Pain Medication
I would like to know what pain medication your surgeon or your primary care prescribed for you after surgery. I just seen my surgeon and his medical assistant said he sent over a prescription to my pharmacy for tylenol suppositories. I don't want to insert anything up my butt lol. I would like to know of any liquid pain medication that are ok to take so I can go to my primary care dr and have him give me this before my surgery date of 4/12. I would also like to know which one worked the best for you... I know that I still have to take my synthroid and I also have tramadol and that is the same size pill as the synthroid so if i have to I will just take my tramadol anything is better than sticking something up my butt lol- Need To Shrink My Liver **help**
That I know of the 2week thing. I was told because I had lost some weight that I didn't have to do the 2 week liquid diet and just to do it a week before my surgery so I didn't loose too much weight. Now going back today I have gained some weight back and he said I need to loose 3-5LBS that isn't a real problem its will my liver shrink...- Need To Shrink My Liver **help**
I am having my surgery 4/12 I just seen my surgeon today and was told that I needed to shrink my liver. He said that I could do step 3 which is basically Protein for Breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner along with 1 cup of veggies for dinner only. I would like to know what else could I do to help the process of shrinking my liver? Running... walking on treadmill for 1 hr... Kick boxing... ETC... I am worried that my liver will no shrink.- Sugar Free Water Flavoring
Hello I was told that I could not drink crystal light while on liquid stage due to it having sugar. I wanted to know if anyone knew or recommended any other sugar free Water flavoring that I could buy at walmart or target? Also I would like to know as I was told I could have sugar free popsicles also durning my liquid stage that pedialyte popsicles were the ones to take I would like to know if anyone has also been told this and if regular sugar free popsicles did ok for you ... Sugar free Jello I'm seeing in the liquid stage to stay away but was told by a person who had this done already that jello was ok to eat in this stage any one know if it's ok to have jello? I was also told to stay away from skim milk but after seeing a list on here during the liquid stage I see skim or 1% milk is ok i am being told that skim milk has a lot of sugar in it and stay away from this. I know when I have my Protein shakes I like to use milk instead of water but am now unsure of which one (milk that is) to use... Any feed back would be much appreciated I am getting banded April 12th- Tricare Prime (west Region) New Policy As Of 10-5-11
You will need to complete this 6 months with your Primary care Dr. You will need to go in every month for 6 months and have the document your visit weight etc. I too have tri care prime and I am in Nv. Hope all works out for u- Tricare Prime North/lap Band Clinic

Hi, was just wondering what is a great/good multivitamin to take after having Lap Band done?- New Here
Hello everyone, My name is Alexis and I was just approved for having Lap band I will be having my surgery March 22, 2012. I am so excited and also nervous at the same time. I have been struggling with my weight since my early 20's it has been a non stop roller coaster of my weight going up and down. The most weight I lost was 60 Lbs but I was on phentermine and as soon as I stop taking those pills I put the weight all back on and then some grrr lol. My husband is very supportive of my decision in doing this and I thank him very much however, other members of my family are telling me that this is the easy way out and I need to try harder. Believe me I have tried harder but nothing is working for me. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with feed back as to how long it took them to recover after surgery granted I know everyone is going to be different... How long do you have to wait before you can actual exercise and how sore is one after this procedure... Any helpful information will be great to know. Thank you - Liquid Pain Medication
