New Meds Are A Problem
ive had problems with dizzyness and some tiredness. i dont think my problem is b/p related, but im not sure.( i dont drink enough water) i take olmetec for my hypertension. ive been on it now for the last four years.(olmesartan medoxomil tabs). about six months ago the dose was put up from 20 mgs to 40mgs. my average readings are systolic ... around 140. i used to be hypo... very low b/p. ( with constant fainting). Could you ask for another brand of meds?? most of them do have some sort of side effects. Perhaps this one doesnt suit you so well??

Restriction?
i have a small cup of black coffee first thing. it always works well for me. Ive got 3 1/2 cc's in my band and im five months post op nearly. Im due for another small fill in a few weeks. I had to have 1/2 cc taken out about six weeks ago.... im not sure how much i will be able to tolerate in my band either. everyone is different. i know that if i even have a small fill im tight for at least two weeks afterwoods...and not only at breakfast time.

Pain Where The Port Is, Not In The Incision Area
yep... its normal. Even months out from surgery sometimes i might get a sore spot around the port. it goes away again and i dont take any notice of it. Being stitched into muscle means its going to take a while to heal..... just take it easy.

I Feel So Hungry!

Working On Week 4 Post Op... Only Lost 11 Lbs...normal? Also Added Mushies Last Week No Gain Or Loss?
i agree.. dont react to whats going on... just allow your body to re adjust and the weight loss will come. theres no guarantee that you will lose heaps in a month... but as long as you lose thats the main thing. The best result is a long term one, not short term.

Raspberry Ketones
i saw them advertised and did wonder about them. I dont use that but i do have frozen raspberries of a night with my Protein drink and yoghurt. its a great drink. im not noticing any weight loss through having raspberries but its the only fruit im having at the moment.

My New Secondary Insurance Dose Not Cover The Sleeve, Should I Get Banded?
yes the band is well worth it. i had a good long discussion with my dr about both procedures. He was very up front about it all. The band teaches you good eating habits... and lets face it ... it was bad eating habits that got us in this situation to begin with. Having the sleeve means more risk in surgery, means that one has to take Vitamin supps always.. and also that you CAN stretch the stomach that has been cut in half. Eventually the stomach can be stretched and after that happens there is nothing left to do. Bad eating habits vs good eating habits. Learning how to eat properly is necessary with both surgeries... the difference is that the band pulls us up. the other doesnt and by the time we know something is wrong its too late.

Is Coffee Going To Ruin My Weight Loss?
you've done well to last this long without coffee. ive been having black coffee without sugar all along. lol.. my opinion on the sugar?? its more likely to trigger a hunger for more sweet carbs... apart from that , i dont see any probls. Cant you manage coffee black without sugar?? if you persevere you will get there... i know that i did.

Gall Bladder Issues Post Op
thats scary stuff. i had xrays done years ago and they found two calcified stones under the gall bladder. we dont know if they were calcified glands or not. i never followed up on that one. i get general pain in both left and right side of my abdo.. .but ive always put it down to some colitis. I have more win in my gut since the band surgery. Has anyone else got more '' wind'' pain since surgery??I cant imagine how much pain you must have been in. How on earth you drove yourself?? At least you are through all that now and im sure that having the gall bladder removed will make all the difference to you. Tell me, has your weight loss been quick?? have you lost a lot of weight ??

My Stomach Literally Broke Open
ohh... how awful for you. I cant imagine how you must feel about it right now. Did the dr say why you got infected underneath? thats not good, especially as you have been banded some time now. I hope that you can get another port in. I dont see why not. ASk him about doing the port on the other side of your stomach?? surely he could do that?? Meantime... take good care of the wound... Good luck with it all and keep us posted. hugs for you judy
